I booked a Contemporary room last night - 3 nights, 1 standard view room...total was $582. I decided that I wanted the tower so I called this afternoon to see if I could change the reservation. I know I can't cancel without losing my deposit but I didn't know if I could change it.

CM said no problem, changed to a Tower room, added an additional night at the resort. She gave me a balance due of $455. She said that my total balance was $644.50. She said that I'd get a confirmation in 5 days. After I hung up, I started thinking $644 for 4 nights in the Tower rooms at CR??!! I checked my reservation on the disneyworld website and it shows that my total charge should be 2578! It shows my deposit from last night of $194.02. It says deposit $450.48 (I have NO idea where that came from!) and my balance due at checkin of $1933.50.

It's value season - even at rack rate four nights would not come to $2578. Anyone have a guess where these numbers came from? How could the CM quote me such a low number and the website show my changed itinerary with such an enormous charge?

I wouldn't be too worried - I have often read where the website numbers don't reflect the truth especially with booked over the phone ressies.

Wait for the paperwork and then you can panic if need be - but I have read alot of complaints on incorrect $$$ amounts on the website but its all fine when calling CRO.

well I would be worried....
and the amount that is on the website really is your total...
believe me....
the same thing happened to me..
CM was trying to help me out.....
said that my four days at AKL would be 544.00 total.....
WRONG ANSWER
when I went to check online.... that was just my one nights deposit
the whole thing was over 2000.00
which was a whole lot higher than the rack rates....
but had I not checked it and called back the next day to check on this,
I would have been paying this amount when I showed up at AKL....
and I dont really think I would have been a happy camper....
So you need to call and confirm this info with central reservations

I know the site states that it may not reflect a payment, but I was under the impression that what the total is, is what it is....I would call them ASAP

I ended up with a ressie for the WL courtyard at $517 per night :rotfl2:

I called the passholder number 560-pass and they got me back to POFQ which is where I started out.

Definitely call and get it changed.my.02

I called them today to confirm that my balance was only $644. The CM reconfirmed that $644 was correct. I asked him to email me the new confirmation since I didn't get one last night. He said he'd see if could do that. Put me on hold 10 minutes then came back and said that an email with my changes from last night would be sent out.....However, they noticed that I was quoted the wrong rate and that my new total was $12xx and I needed to pay more money to cover the entire first night's deposit.

I asked why I was quoted $644 last night and again by him 10 minutes ago and he didn't know. Spoke to him for awhile and then was transferred to a supervisor. Frank said that without anything CONCRETE to prove that it was a computer glitch, they couldn't give me the $644 rate. He kept saying that I had nothing to prove that I was quoted that amount....I said what about the CM that I just spoke to who quoted me the $644. He said that there are no notes in the system and that my reservation had already been changed. He said if they had emailed me the changes last night or if I had received something in writing, they would allow it. He said that I would have to speak to Guest Communications (never heard of that one) and that they may approve it depending on the circumstances.

I asked "SO, no email was ever going to be sent to me? How would I have known that I was quoted the wrong information? What would have happened if I didn't call you today and this mistake was discovered at checkin?" He said that the manager at the CR would have gotten involved & these things are handled on a case by case basis. I was on the phone for 45 minutes (being put on hold ALOT). I finally asked to have a manager from Guest Communications call me back (my lunch hour was more than over) but no one ever did. So I don't know if I have the reservation or not.

I'm locked into a nonrefundable deposit with a balance twice what was quoted. I am hoping that they honor it like they did all of the Florida Rate glitch but it doesn't look good.

They haven't actually honored any of the Fl Rate glitch ressie's yet... so we need to see if they do honor that. From what you are saying, Disney basically has said if you had proof, they would honor? Well all the glitch ressies have proof. Actually you did have some proof... your deposit! Disney never takes less then one night for the deposit. How long did they actually have your deposit? See if it was charged to your credit card....and just how much was charged...if $644, then I would consider that some sort of proof :wizard:

Yes, the supervisor (Frank) kept saying that if they had something concrete, blah blah blah.

When I changed my reservation from the wing room to the tower last night, the CM did not ask me for any additional deposit. My $192 put down for the original wing room is all that I've put down.

When I checked my reservation online on the WDW website, it was showing that I had put down an ADDITIONAL deposit of $450 but I did not and was not asked either. Today, after Disney realized the error, I was asked for more money when I called.
