Has anyone used the Fantasmic Package at the Brown Derby this year? What is included? Can I order any entree or is it pre-determined. We're doing the bounce back in September and we'll be on the basic dining plan. We wanted to try one nice restaurant while we're there even though we have little kids and thought this might be a good choice since it's in the theme park. Any thoughts on that? My boys will be 5 and almost 3.

I tried to book The Brown Derby Fantasmic Dinner Package for this upcoming August. I called on my 180 day mark at 7:01am and I was unable to get the Fantasmic package...They seat you at any of the three restaurants offered between 3:30pm and 5:30 pm...for a 9:00 show???? I could only obtain a 4:30pm reservation so I declined and just made an ADR at 6:15pm at The Brown Derby...after dinner I will just head over to the show and take my chances. I do not understand why they seat you so early if the point of the package is to NOT stand on the line and get to the show 30 minutes prior to the show. The Brown Derby is 2 credits on the dining plan and you can order off the menu... Have a great trip and hopefully you can get a time that works for you~

It's my understanding the Fantasmic package has a limited menu.

It's also my understanding that it includes an appetizer on the basic dining plan.

It is my understanding that you can't use the DDP for any Fantasmic Pkgs. You have to pay for those with cash money. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I book Fantasmic (Mama Melrose) w/ the basic dining plan but had to leave a "deposit" on a credit card. if we no show then the card is charged. If we go then the card is not and we can use the dining plan.
Yes, 2 ( table service) credits for Brown Derby 1 for mama Melrose and Hollywood and Vine. I have 5:15 res. for the 9:00 show but we can eat then walk around some.:goodvibes

We have a 5:00 reservation at Mama Melrose with the Fantasmic Package during our trip in September for the 8:30 show. We did NOT leave a credit card number, the menu is the exact same and you can use your Dining Plan (one table service per person).

That's wrong...Brown Derby Fantasmic Package (2 TS credits)..Melrose and Vine Fantasmic Package (1 TS credits)...both dining plans can be used..with normal inclusions. ;)

So joenan, you could have gotten "a" reservation, just not for a time you wanted? I'm a little alarmed that they were all booked by 7:01AM!!

I was alarmed, as well! They were only able to offer me a 4:30pm dinner reservation at The Brown Derby with the Fantasmic Dinner package. That was way to early for me! I wanted a 5:30pm-6:00pm. The CM told me that the latest they seat you for the Fantasmic Package is 5:30pm and it was already taken! Since you have the opportunity to book 180 + 10 someone was lucky enough to get the later times. Good Luck!

This has come up before -- that the seating times you are offered at the 180-day mark at BD w/ Fantasmic package are ridiculously early. What we did was accept the "unacceptable" seating time, then I called back a month before our trip and indeed the time we wanted was now suddenly available. My advice is that if you want BD and the package, take the best of whatever poor times you are offered and then call back a month later to see if better times are available.

This sounds like a plan. I'll remember to check for a better time later...;)

Can someone confirm PP's assertion that you cannot order from the regular menu when doing the FDP? That was not my understanding and I am hoping for a recent experience. I would cancel our FDP, if that is the case as I will not use 2 ts credits for a preset meal. Thx.

From all the reviews I have read that is not true. I am on the deluxe plan this August and I was told I can have all the inclusions that I am entitled to on the regular dinner menu at The Brown Derby. I could not get a ADR for the Brown Derby for the FDP but I did look into it.

Thanks! We're also on the deluxe plan. I forgot to ask when I called to make the ADRs for this trip but we almost did the FDP at BD in 9/07 and that was what I was told back then too.
