Brooklynn takes Bella to meet Cinderella! Page 242 Downtown Disney

MeMom, I know you like seeing the Dis kids so here are mine :)

A little late but I will add my Belle in her Christmas dress:

halloween2009-1.jpg

I get that a lot! She is very tall and mature for her age. She had teeth at 3 months and already has 6 permanent teeth. I can only imagine what her teenage years will be like. I'd be thrilled if she would slow down a little.

Bella started with the teething early, too.

Teenage years? Definitely slow down! You don't want to be in any hurry to get on that roller coaster!!!

I have absolutely no idea where they got the name. I think his mom came up with it. Remember my adopted cousins Josh and Jeremy I told you about? Kazin is Josh's son :goodvibes He doesn't look very Asian, except for the skin color. He looks more like his mom. He looked JUST like Josh when he was born though!

And here's Caleb, Jeremy's little boy

23h3juo.jpg

He's sitting in his Grandpa's lap :) He was 6 months in that picture, he's 8 months now. He definitely looks more asian than Kazin. He looks a lot like Jeremy. Look how small his little hand is compared to his Grandpa's!

He's a doll! I know they are all loved, adored, and spoiled by everyone in the family. ::yes::

Going to try and post a picture for the first time
Hope it works.

Didn't work. Going to try and figure out what I did wrong.http://
Sorry it is so big, I will have to figure out how to resize but I am so glad that it posted. Not sure how I did it either. Anyways, my two Ninja's are holding the blue and yellow swords.

One of those boys is the one that called us your imaginary friends!

Thanks for sharing your picture. :)

Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area has a lot of things to do. It's not Disney, but it is fun. In March, there is Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg, several miniature golf courses, nascar speedway park with rides for little ones. Also, there is a new hotel with an indoor waterpark that everyone says is fun. I do love Dollywood though. I am a season passholder and we used it going to Splash Country more than Dollywood. It is great. Just from looking at WDW waterparks, it really is comparable. It does not open till Memorial Day though. Dollywood is fun too. It has several areas for little ones. My boys are 3yo and 20 months and they have fun. You will have stuff to do either way, but more to do if Dollywood is open. Also, there are good outlets to shop and even a Disney store!! If you need any more help, just let me know. We go very often.

Oh, I also forgot to mention the Knoxville Zoo. It is nice and not that far away from Pigeon Forge.

I'd really like to go to Dollywood, but it isn't open in March. That would have been perfect. We are going to continue to do our research, so anything else you think of, such as a safe and family-friendly hotel, would be appreciated.

you can tell brooklynn she scared me silly!

this reminded me of something that happened with luke (my friend anna's little boy) one time. myself, anna and luke went to savannah for the weekend a few years ago and on the way back we stopped at shoney's for breakfast. luke was about two-and-a-half years old. we were in the bathroom and i had went in before them, so i was done and was washing my hands. when luke and anna came in the stalls were full so they were waiting. well, this poor woman in one of the stalls was having some stomach problems that she couldn't hide, if you know what i mean. luke heard her and i guess because he could see me, he thought it was me and he started laughing and screaming, "DAWN POOTED!!!!!" over and over again. anna and i were trying not to laugh but we just couldn't help it. we ended up leaving the bathroom before anna even got to go because we felt so bad for the lady and we didn't want to be in there when she came out of the stall. :rotfl:

I think I would have left, too!

Even with that crazy mouth, Brooklynn got good results at the dentist today.

by the way, i will end up putting these on my TR, but i thought i'd share them here, too, because i knew you guys might want to see them. they were taken with a picture phone, so the quality isn't that great.

margot as a little halloween pumpkin!

here's the little pumpkin with her daddy!

She's a doll! I'm glad they had a fun Halloween time together.

I love Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge!! Chad and I love to go in like January or February when we can hopefully see snow!
We are actually going to Cherokee in 19 days!! Wooo hoooo!! To ride the Polar Express and then the next day we are heading to Dollywood. My parents, sister, her hubby and daughter, and Hollie have never been there so we get to show them everything!

I love to walk around downtown Gatlinburg and look in all the shops! So much fun!! Oh, and we love to eat at Bubba Gump's!! Yumm!!!

If we weren't going to WDW, we'd go to Dollywood and see all the Christmas stuff there. Maybe we'll plan that for next year.

I look forward to seeing your pictures from everything!

This post officially had me rolling.:rotfl:
I had to read it out loud to my dh, because he just doesn't understand about women and their "fear" of being heard in the restroom....
:lmao:

If I had been outside, I would have left before the lady came out. If I had been the lady, I wouldn't have come out until everyone else had left!

What beautiful "ramblings"! And I totally agree!

I love these pictures, especially Bella's feet! I just love baby feet!!!

Denise

I want a picture of Jill's hands holding Bella's little feet. I saw someone do a picture like that in black and white, and it was so sweet. I want Jill's hands, Bella's feet, and then Brooklynn's hands draped over on Jill's somehow. We're going to play with it a little. We tried it at POFQ, but Bella was in a wiggly mood.

Such great pics. Looked like they both had a wonderful time.
Happy Nov MeMom.

Happy November to you, too! I'm already dreaming of Thanksgiving break - lots of good food and just hanging out with 'the fam'! :)

What great Fall/Halloween pics, MeMom!!!! And I love your "ramblings" too...well said!! Happy November!!!:goodvibes

All those pumpkin patch pictures are Jill's, so we'll give her the credit. I know they had a great time on a beautiful fall day!

I guess you're right about our neighbour - we're just very chatty people! I think she works long hours, or has a very long commute to her job - she is always up and out early and back very late. Well not that we sit and wait to see her of course :rotfl: but we don't often see her or her car at those sort of "morning work / evening work" rush hour times so that's what we've assumed! I am desperate to know where in America she is from!

My sister took my niece to see Disney Princesses on Ice yesterday! She said it was amazing and my niece loved it - she has turned into a real Disney Princess (she's 4yrs) following my birthday trip to Disneyland Paris. I hope she keeps her interest up until we go to Orlando in 2011!

Monday - AGAIN! xxx

I can't imagine a four year old losing interest in Disney. I bet she will love it!

Great Halloween pictures, Jill!!! I was laughing about Brooklyn's water after her bath, and both girls look like they had a blast at the pumpkin patch. Brooklyn's comment about the candy corn was too funny!

Brooklynn thought the pink water was pretty funny.

I can just picture Brooklynn's face when corn fell out of her clothes.

Jill and I tossed around the idea of a trip to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge for a couple of days during spring break, since there will be no Disney. I know we would eat and shop, but maybe you can help us out on some things the little ones might like to do. Dollywood won't be open yet. Maybe we should just wait a little later, like May, and go to Dollywood. I just don't know what I am going to do during spring break. I hate the thought of doing nothing during my time off.QUOTE]

Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge is a lot of fun. DH and I got up there almost every year. When is your Spring Break? We are tentatively planning on going up during our Spring Break this year.

Gatlinburg has a lot of shopping and some things for the girls to do. Ripley's Aquarium is fun and has areas for the little ones to explore. There is one shopping area in Gatlinburg that I absolutely love and have to visit each time I go. It's called the "The Village" www.thevillageshops.com. If you go there, you have to take the girls to "Olde Smoky Candy Kitchen", you get to watch them make the candy the old fashioned way.

Pigeon Forge has a lot of outlet shopping, go kart places, mini-golf, etc. If it is in your budget, I would try Dixie Stampede. It is a lot of fun and they choose some kids from the audience to participate. Another great place to eat is the Apple Barn. You get a lot of food for your buck. We usually have leftovers for another meal when we leave.

You must visit Great Smoky Mountains Park, while you are up there. Cades Cove is one of our favorites. It is a bit of a drive into the park but well worth it. We get up early and drive to it. You drive through the area in your car at a slow pace and you get the chance to see wildlife right outside your windows. We have seen deer, turkey, foxes, and black bears to name a few. We bring a picnic lunch and enjoy it at one of the picnic areas inside the park. Here are a few pictures from our last trip (I'm completing a trip report so, you can view more there):

Your pictures remind me of what good times I have had there in the past. I have seen bears there before, too, and that is exctiing. I want to go shop in all the cool shops. I've seen the taffy-making place a few times. Is that the same one you are talking about? We will end up there, if not in March, soon.

yep I know Benton. I work in Mayfield now. Small World.....

Do you ever come to Nashville?

Aw looks like everyone had a fun Halloween! :)

I'm so glad everyone has shared their pictures. I love seeing them!

did I read the post right does brokelyin have a denist apt today

She was a big girl and went back all by herself, Jill said!

MeMom, I know you like seeing the Dis kids so here are mine :)

I do LOVE seeing our DIS kids!
One day, I hope to see all these DIS kids in person.

We have a building here in Nashville that is affectionately known as the Batman building. It looks something like your son does there!

A little late but I will add my Belle in her Christmas dress:

halloween2009-1.jpg

Hey, I know her!
She's beautiful!
What about the teenish-ager? Did he dress up, or is he not into that?

I love the photo

Me, too. Great dress!

Absolutely -- If you want any of the websites that I have used just let me know..

You are gonna have a super awesome wedding! What is the date?

Yep! She is a part of the no cavity club!!!! She got a brand new Belle toothbrush and she picked out a baby Eeyore one for Isabella.

I'm proud of her. I'm also proud that she picked out my favorite 'Ee-war' for Bella. Maybe she'll help Bella brush her two little toofers tonight. :lovestruc

MeMom--you might consider renting a cabin while you are there--my parents have one and we stayed there last year over spring break. We were disappointed that Dollywood wasn't going to be open while we were there, but we really went to go to the NASCAR race in Bristol. We did some shopping and lots of eating! My parents took my DD (12) to Dixie Stampede and they had fun. We also went up the big tram in Gatlinburg which was fun as well. There are tons of cabins/websites out there. If you'd like the info on my parent's cabin/rental company, PM me and I'll send it along!

Hey MeMom it's me again. Asking for advice on my trip coiming up in 5 days.(11/7-11/9 fly out 11/10 early no park):cool1:
Okay as you know it will be me(WDW veteran) and my best friend and her granddaughter age 2. They have never been. We will only have 2 1/2 days so I think I'm going to stick with MK and AK. My problem is to save money we won't have park hoppers. I know AK is not considered a all day park by some, but I think with a little one I can spread it out.( in all my trips I have never seen the afternoon parade at AK, so I would love to see that). I also have never seen the new nemo show. Do you think a 2 yr old would like it?
We will more than likely go early, leave for a swim and nap then come back for the afternoon.
Even though Fantasyland will be crowded by the afternoon. I think we will go to the MK on arrival day, since it is only a half day. Then go to AK all day the second day, then MK all day the last day. The crowd predictor says Nov 9( our all day MK day) at MK is a 5 out of 10 so maybe this is a doable plan.
Any advice? I am really fretting over this trip. I really want my friend to see it like all of us here do. Wish me luck:goodvibes

P.S. I miss Ty already.

If it's just us girls going, we'd probably get just a room. If we have the guys with us, as cabin sounds great! If we decide on a cabin at any time in the future, we will most assuredly contact you and your parents about renting from them. Thanks so much for letting us know about that option! :)

~Arkie~ aka Ty's Nonnie

P.S. I miss Ty already.

Brooklynn has always loved the Nemo musical. It is a tad bit long for a little one, perhaps. I remember thinking that the first time we saw it, and that's the comment our cousins made about it on this trip. It's an excellent show and so colorful and lively, but just be sure she is in a good mood and ready to sit for a little while when you go. Definitely worth seeing, but best when the little one is not going to be antsy. It is more like a half hour show, not just 10 - 20 minutes.

I know you'll want to do the safari, maybe the trails, and maybe do Triceratop Spin and let her run around in The Boneyard for a little bit. The parade is fun.

What time are you planning to get to a park on your arrival day, and what time do you have to leave on departure day? Is your departure day the morning after your full day at Magic Kingdom, or is your departure day the night at the end of the full day of Magic Kingdom?

Is it
half day, full day, full day, leave the next morning
or
half day, full day, full day, yet leaving at the end of that day?

The reason I ask is that if I were taking a two year old and had no hoppers, and to really show them the best of everything, I would do it like this:

Park #1 - Animal Kingdom - safari, Nemo, parade, trails if you think she would like the gorillas or the tigers either one, but you are taking your chances with them being active

or

Park #1 - Epcot to ride Nemo, see the aquarium, and Figment for the little one and walk around World Showcase for the grown-up. You can ride Maelstrom and Three Caballeros, if you wanted to, too, making four rides for the little one in that park.

The full day, I would hit Park #2, Magic Kingdom, at rope drop. Go straight to Dumbo and Peter Pan as walk-ons and then finish out all of Fantasyland within the next hour. Do whatever you can until you think it's break time - including going over to Toontown as soon as they open to see the characters without a wait. When you come back after naps, you could ride Buzz, Haunted Mansion, see the parades, repeat rides in Fantasyland, and stay for Spectro and Wishes, if you had the fortitude to do so. If the little one falls asleep in a stroller, you guys could opt for staying and enjoying the parade and fireworks and not worry about her being tired or fussy.

The third day, I would choose a different park, to be honest. If I am going to pay for a three day pass, I'd want to take her over to Hollywood Studios for Park #3 to do Toy Story Midway Mania, see Playhouse Disney, which is perfect for a two year old, and then over to Little Mermaid, which I think she would also like. There is also a meet & greet with Woody and Buzz, if she likes Toy Story.

If you have time after those few things, you could go to DTD for a quick visit to World of Disney, Once Upon a Toy, eat at Earl of Sandwich, get a family ornament at the Christmas store, and grab Ty a special treat at Goofy's Candy Company.

SO- that's more advice than you ever wanted, for sure, and you may not agree with any of it, but if you are asking how I would personally get the most out of a trip, I would go for seeing all of Magic Kingdom and the kid-friendly highlights of two other parks intstead of repeating Animal Kingdom. I really think the two year old would enjoy those three things in Hollywood Studios.

If you want others to throw their advice out there, just post it on here and I know you will get many well-intentioned thoughts to help you decide how to get the most out of this trip for you and your friend. It will be fun to think about it and plan, and then it will be interesting for us to see what you decide to do in the end. :) You know we will want to hear ALL about it when you get back, so don't leave us out! You either have to do a trip report, or at least a mini-trip report, or you have to come over here and share your fun with us in a few stories and pictures.

Back to the report, where Jill had reminded me that that is the day they went shopping in DTD:

First, the characters were so happy to be free!

IMG_0244.jpg

One of those characters really didn't come in that set. :)

I will now reveal the treasures they came home with.
I had forgotten she bought this blouse when it was mentioned earlier in the report, but lo and behold, here it is!

Bella enjoying her toys and acting surprised/shocked about something.

Note the door is open. I like to leave my door either cracked or propped open some with a chair so that I can let that Florida air in.

Nothing to do with your slight dislike of closed in spaces huh :goodvibes

I've been eyeing that Mickey for a long time! They picked out some good souveniers!
