I keep reading on other threads... 'Repair the broken yeti!!'. I didn't even know it was broken!

Last time I rode EE I remember seeing the yeti at the end of the ride. It didn't really move, but had lights flashing onto it which I think gave the illusion that it was moving.

Is it supposed to do something else?

Yeah it's ment to swoop down with its arm and try and grap the train!

Actually better for us that it's broken...my dd is afraid of him when he's just standing there. I don't think she'd ride at all if he tried to grab the car!
But I personally would prefer to have him restored to his former glory...

Yes, it's supposed to be fully visible and move very fluently. He leans way down and tries to take a swipe of your train as you go under him. He is a very large animatronic and when he did function correctly, it was pretty impressive, even if it was only for a short 4 seconds or so that you see him.

It was cool when it worked.

The whole area has a theme based on the Yeti...then you ride the ride and he does nothing.

It's still a good ride, though, even with the Disco Yeti.

It was great when it worked!!

Has it ever worked? Been there so many times, and never seen the thing do anything. Half the time it is hard to even pick it out.

I think the last time I saw him move correctly was 2007. It was really neat technology! He did sort of move in 2009. Last year we didnt even get disco yeti every ride. I guess the strobe light was burning out.

It's supposed to swoop down and grab at the train with it's arm. It used to be quite scary. I think the last time I saw that was in 2009. It's because it weighs like 20 tons and is starting to pull at the wall where it's attached and they're afraid he will fall. So they decided to stop all the huge movements so this wouldn't happen. Back in his former glory, he was absolutely terrifying to me.

I find it wildly amusing that sightings of a moving Yeti at EE are comparable to "real life" Yeti sightings in the wild.

I remember going a little bit after it first opened and it was working. It was terrifying! I think I remember ducking thinking that I was too tall and it was actually going to hit me

Me too. I do miss the is the yeti dead-i threads and the 'discussion' that followed often ending in people getting called liars and being told to have thier eyes checked.

I'm going to be thinking disco music when I see him next time. It's fun to stay at the E V E R...ST! It's fun to stay at the...

:lmao:

I always wondered about this! In any of the commercials and promotional videos you see the Yeti popping out. I always say to myself I've been on that ride at least 10 times and don't remember that! I wish they would fix it, its my sons favorite ride and would be even better with this effect working.
