I have just tried to load my sd card from my reader back into my camera. It wouldnt load. On investigation I see that a corner of the plastic has broken off. Now Ive given the card reader a thorough go over....is it likely the card piece (xsmall) could be lodged in the camera card slot??? Is it likely the piece will never get located? BTW it still reads in the cardreader.
Should I be concerned or try a new card and move on?

Personally I would make sure all the photos are off of the card and toss it. SD cards are not that expensive to replace and taking the risk of it not working correctly in the camera would be something I would not want to risk and loosing photos. I have had SD cards come and go (not a lot but a few) and even though I would get them to work again the fact that they were damaged could cause issues later.

Don't force anything including the new SD card you bought.

If a piece of the old card got lodged in your camera and that keeps you from inserting the new card then you will need to have a camera repair specialist help out.
