I'm gonna get that book that Anthony Rapp made. That "Without You" one. It's only $15 at B&N. =D
Good book. A little..uhm...discriptive, but good.
A little? The man practically gives a day by day itinerary of his *** life, lmao.
But I got it signed by him... -die-
And he reads the audiobook version of it, which is really cool.
OH MY GOODNESS! You guys are not, I repeat, are not going to believe this!!
So my theater company's fall musical was Sweeney Todd, which was absolutely amazing enough. But my friend comes up to me in school today, and said that John (our director) told everyone at their Urinetown rehearsal yesterday (I'm not in that...Fiddler was waaay too much for me) that Sweeney is being moved to the final show in the summer camp program. I was bummed, but I told her I'd totally do it anyway. So I'm like, "wait, what's our fall show," and then it totally hit me, and I started screaming! And she confirmed it. John told them last night that our theater company's fall musical will be...RENT!!!!!!!![]()

I'm serious. Like, I knew the rights were available...I just never really soaked it all in. Until now! Oh jeez, I'm still freakin' out!
My first thought was that I have to take like, 50 thousand voice lessons before September! Because you have to think: we're probably going to be the first group in Westchester, NY to do this, so at least 300 or so people are going to audition. And I'm not kidding, for my last show with this place, Les Miserables, they got a turnout of 250 people. I mean, it's going to be pretty darn hard to get in. Just getting in the ensemble will be a blessing (and then I can cry about not getting Alexi Darling or something...forget about Maureen *my part*) Also, since we don't have enough boys, unless by some miracle we find one, who can sing that kind of tenor part, apparently our Angel's going to be a girl. And I have no idea how that affects Collins or anyone else. We shall see. Anyways...coming this fall, official Rent watch from Angela...the story of a group of high schoolers coming together to put on the story that changed a generation

I am soo excited-
I might get to go to London to see Chess (it's an amazing musical) in concert with Josh Groban and IDINA MENZEL! I am so excited![]()
And Adam Pascal! He was amazing as Freddie Trumper at the last Chess benefit.
Mmkay, so my new favorite musical (well, besides Rent, since that will always be #1) is Spring Awakening. -die- The score is amazing, the story is amazing, the cast is crazy talented... I've been listening to the cast recording nonstop lately. And I have the play it was based on on hold atm.
Another musical I've just been introduced to is Next to Normal (formally titled Feeling Electric). It's basically about what a family goes through in the over-medicated world that is today. Anthony Rapp, Norbert Leo Butz, Sherie Rene Scott, and Amy Spanger have all been involved with it in workshops, and the current cast for the previews is Adam Chanler-Berat, Jennifer Damiano (I LOVE her, she's so amazing), Brian d'Arcy James, Alice Ripley (she's fierce), Asa Somers, and Aaron Tveit. But it's really good, there's rumors that it's heading to Broadway. There's no *official* cast recording yet, but if you're interested hearing it search 'feeling electric' on youtube and a video of Anthony, Amy, and a few other people singing the title song will come up. And I know there's a few bootlegs floating around somewhere...
wow I hadn't heard that it had Adam Pascal! But unfortunately, it turns out I can't goI was really mad at my dad...
But I just fell in love with a new musical too- it's called [title of show]. It's amazing! It's got a lot of references that only a musical geek would get..haha, but it also has bad language, so I probably shouldn't link it here... just look up title of show on youtube. Especially the song Secondary Characters. It's great!
