Broadway Club

You know what? You, me, and Jessica..need to like all see RENT with Adam and Anthony someday. =D That'd be awesome:p

I haven't read the book yet..I'll ask for it for my birthday =D

Yeah we should! Rent's gonna be in Chitown March 31-April 5!

Lol, that part is hilarious, especially in the audiobook, since Anthony is reading it. His little girl voice is so funny. :p

I'm gonna be at WDW from March 27th-April 4th..we're coming back on April 4th. I asked my mom and she's like "that's way too soon..we're just gonna get back from WDW..I wanna relax before I bust my :rolleyes1 back at work again. you can't have everything in life..you can't do everything." Does she NOT know how rare it is for RENT to come to Chicago? and besides my mom hates Chicago..well downtown Chicago that is.. D:

Aww :(

Closest it'll come to here is most likely Boston :( :( :(

I'll have to find the audiobook now! I'd love to hear Anthony's voice outside of RENT :) (and I mean, Anthony doing a little girl voice is oh-so appealing!)

Well, Rent does come to Chicago every time it tours, but this is the first time that both Adam and Anthony have toured. And it's the last Rent tour like... ever. Unless they revive it 20 years from now.

well, I don't care if my mom won't let me go or not.. I'm going to go whether she likes it or not. I'm serious. I don't care if my mom hates RENT..
I wanna go...

I mean,
the RENT show is probably never gonna come back. None of my school friends like RENT...so

ahh
I asked my dad and he said the same thing. He's like "You can't have EVERYTHING..and BESIDES..we're going to the RF concert in August!"

I want to cry :(
My parents think that RENT will be too "bad" for a 14 year old. I described everything to them and it's pretty much like real life? I don't see the big deal. I mean the movie was what, PG-13?! Come on lol.
Any advice on how to convince them to get tickets!?

(Okay totally ironic, I'm listening to my myspace song with is La Vie Boheme and Mark just said "Hating dear old mom and dad" Haha.)

Well TG I'm not alone.. =/ It's supposed to be rated R, actually. If you watch the commentary Adam (I think it was) said it should be rated R because of Mimi's "Out Tonight"
RF concert? What's that?
Rascal Flatts

Try going onto the website

www.siteforrent.com

It might have a Parental Guide page (I know Ave. Q and Spring Awakening's websites do).

CALMLY tell them that there is:
Swearing (moderate)
Homosexuality
A (very cute!) drag queen
AIDS
Drug references

But, there is
Love (lots of it!)
A great message
Sense of self afterwards
Touching story

And lots more! Good luck :) (I'm having the same problem with my mom and Spring Awakening...)

Your parents think it's inappropriate too?! Thank God haha. It is only rated PG-13 right? Ohhhhh. I see.

I told them all that before. I'll get tickets for it hopefully, even if I have to pay for it. A girl I know saw the show in 4th grade! I was like, I need to see RENT before I die. There's noway it can stop and me never to see it? You know what I mean?
Spring Awakening is AHMAZING. I would love to see it, but that won't happen haha. But Totally -Lalala- ;) is an AWESOME song.

Yup. My parents don't see how I can love a musical involving AIDS..but whatever.

I was actually a little suprised. I bought seasons of love and I was playing it on my phone.
My mom heard and asked what it was. I told her and she had me put it on her phone.
She said she's seen bits and pieces of the movie and didn't seem too concered with me wanting to get the movie.
I really really want to go see it, but I doubt I could go if my friend and I decide to convince my mom to take us to see The Lion King...

Heyyy, I haven't been on the Broadway thread before, but I might be seeing RENT on Broadway for my friend's birthday this summer, I'm excited.

And I just saw In The Heights, has anyone else?
It was BRILLIANT, I 100% recommend it.
