Broadwalk inn problems

I am surprised that the BW knows now that they won’t have availability in October - sounds to me like they overbooked during the very popular Food and Wine plus now GE opening. That said, kudos to OP for having such a great attitude!
I think you’ll enjoy the GF. I suggest planning for your sister’s family to hang out at the GF with you on their MK nights (taking the boat from the front of the MK to the GF on a warm night is a delight, watching the MK fireworks from the terrace by the quick service restaurant Gasparillas or the GF dock is pleasant as well, sitting in the GF lobby listening to the band or the piano player is very pleasant as well.) On Epcot & DHS nights you can visit them at the Boardwalk.
Getting back to GF after your visit at the BW, check the schedule for the MK, if they are open late even for an after hours Halloween party the buses from the resorts to the MK will be running, if so when it’s time to leave just walk down to the BW bus stop, grab a MK bus and once at the MK boat or monorail to the GF, or as mentioned walk or boat over to DHS if it’s open late and bus back to the GF.
And as mentioned, if you just don’t want to deal with security going via the MK or all of those transfers Uber/Lyft are reasonably priced options.
They arrive tomorrow not October.

I wouldn't accept that answer from Disney. They can find you a room in the beach club or yacht club. Advise them you are doing a family vacation and want to be by your relatives. Ask to speak to a manager.

I had this happen and honestly my first thiought was oh no, not the Grand! We were booked at BWI and our friends were all either there ar at the BC. The poor woman who called said. "But is is a noce resot." Oh dear, what an understatement! LOL! It id a stunning resort. It was nto what we had planned, but we figured it out.

I woudl try one more time to get moved to teh BC or YC so tht you are within walking distance to the BWV, but if you cannot, use Uber or Lyft. It is an inexpensive meals of transportation and fast.

Any further info on what the problem was that caused them to move you? We leave Saturday for boardwalk as well so I’m wondering if there are any problems I need to know about.

They had to take a couple rooms out of inventory due to plumbing issues. Nothing major and will not affect any guests except the ones who were moved.

I guess I'm the only one who would find this totally unacceptable, and pitch a fit. We are not talking simply moving resorts, but moving to a whole different area of WDW! If I wanted to be by the boardwalk and Epcot, I wouldn't be happy at all to be moved to over by the Magic Kingdom. Especially if the rest of my family was still by Epcot.

I would be livid too. It's not too easy getting between resorts in different areas without spending a lot of time or extra money. If they refuse to bend at all, I would insist on getting pool hopping privileges...in writing...for the entire travel party at both resorts.

Was this reservations or guest services that you talked too. If it was just reservations, I would definitely call guest services, they have more power.

I mean, it does stink that you have to be separated from others in your group, but to be fair, Disney is giving you a top-flight upgrade! I'm sure they figure most people would be happy to hear they they are getting walked to the Grand Floridian. I'd try not to worry too much about it. You can figure it out, even if it means a little late-night transportation. Using uber/Lyft usually works well.

Enjoy your trip!
