We're going to be staying in a Beach Cottage at Vero in September. :woohoo:

We've got some questions...

1. Is there broadband access--LAN or wireless?

2. Are there any grills on the property? Something convenient to grill food and bring it back to the cottage to eat as opposed to packing up a picnic and taking it "though the tunnel."

3. What type of activities are being offered these days, other than mini-golf/campfires/etc.?

4. What time were you able to get into your Beach Cottage when you stayed there? (I'm not nterested in Inn/Villa rooms)

5. Where is the parking for the beach cottages? How far did you have to lug your stuff? Any tips on that?

6. We're staying for five nights. Has anyone ever been able to get T&T moved to Day 3 instead of Day 4? How much is T&T on a daily basis?

7. What type of soaps and shampoos re they using there? have they switched like the WDW Resorts, or are they still using MMM stuff?

8. Any tips on things to bring along?

TIA!

Anne

1. They have wireless in the Lobby areas
2. There are grilles by the lake.
3. See below.
4. Can't Answer Never stayed in a cottage.
5. Probably the only downside (out front).
6. Probably if you pay for it. ($10/4 I believe ).
7. We were there in August. Still using the old stuff then.
8. Boogy boards, beach chairs, umbrella, margarita mix, tequila.

The VB resort provides daily activities for kids & adults with the best CMs of all the resorts.

They have a nice pool & Lighthouse spiral waterslide, a REALLY cool water play area for the real young kids, a hot Jacuzzi, miniature golf, exercise room, ping pong, bike rentals, The Green Cabin Room (bar/restaurant) has 2nd floor covered deck that has a fantastic view of the ocean and is a nice place to relax with your favorite beverage. It also has live entertainment in the evenings. At night they have a campfire / s’more roast (bring the Cutter Advanced to fend off the No-see-ums). You can rent a small catamaran or jet-ski for ocean fun. Across the street they have a lake, picnic tables, nature trail, tennis courts, and basketball courts. Disney built a private tunnel under the road to access this area. And of course they have the ocean and great waves for boogy boarding. Everything from the ocean to the pool to your room is no more than 2 minutes away walking. So it is real easy to break up your day

5 minutes away is Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge and a wildlife education center. Just a few minutes further up the road is Sebastian Inlet State Park were the Indian River meets the ocean. There are many good fishing spots around the inlet, and there are river excursions where you can see dolphins, manatee, and tons of other types of wildlife. About an hour north is Port Canaveral, (where the Magic and Wonder dock), the Kennedy Space Center visitor complex, and Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge with walking and driving tours. 20 minutes south is McKee Botanical Garden (18 acres) with some REALLY cool vegetation and trees. 30 minutes south in Fort Piece is the Manatee Observation and Education Center.

Have a yummy time :beach:

P.S. Got any Tool pics.

Everytime we've gone we've stayed in BC (and you'll LOVE it).

On average I'd say we were in our cottage between 1:30 + 2:30. One time as late as 3:30.

Thanks for the info Rob. We've been to Vero before, but it was six or seven years ago, and we're definitely foggy on some of the details.

No Tool photo's--yet. I'm still debating on if I want to shoot them April 6th or not. Maynard is pretty well known as being difficult at best when it comes to photographers.

Good to know! We're not sure if we want to go down early enough on Sunday to grab brunch before we check in or not.

Right now it's just DH, DS and myself confirmed, but my SIL might tag along as well.

It's rare to get into a cottage early (ie before 4pm) IMHO. As far as parking, its underneath one of the three villas. Luggage? Ask them to get you a luggage assistant with a golf cart.. they can bring it right to the door of your cottage. :) They've switched soaps to the ... I think its the H20 brand? Something like that.
