Brittany Murphy died

She was so young, how very sad. My heart goes out to her family.

TMZ is almost always right on these things. Unlike the big network news outlets (CNN, Fox, NBC, ABC, CBS) they do not wait on an official statment from "official" sources before reporting. The news networks are going to wait for the police, the hospital or her publicist to say something before they do.

TMZ is realible but not really bound by journalistic ethics.

You are right. I remember when Bernie Mac died, it took forever for CNN to report, but TMZ had it right away. It's still not on CNN about Brittany Murphy.

I have always wondered if when Brittany looked in the mirror, did she still see the gawky, ackward, slighly overweight (according to Hollywood standards,) girl she was in Clueless. It would be such a shame if she turns out to another cruel casualty of Hollywood's superficial standards of what it takes in order be successful & famous.

When I saw her for the first time in The Little Black Book, and it was the first time I had seen her since Clueless, I thought, "My God! What have they done to you!" :scared1: She was sweet, wholesome and real in Clueless. She had a natural effervescence. I felt all of that was gone with her image makeover. It all became about her looks. Even being with Ashton was about being with the "right successful person" than the right person. Like she finally nailed the high school quarterback. That she was chasing to keep up with the anorexic, model-type stars, popular girls and the head cheerleaders.

So young and so sad.

I was hoping I would read by now that she is alive - you know how someone from somewhere says an actor is dead and come back to say they are alive and well.

R.I.P.

Im surprised it still hasn't been picked up by the other news sources yet, as far as I can tell

so sad, so young. I really liked her.

I could have sworn she is a couple episode's of "Full House", but I don't see it credited at IMDB. ETA: sorry , that was "Sister,Sister" actually.

I liked her in everything I saw her in: "Sin City", "Girl, Interrupted"....

my first thought was anorexia, as well....probably that and drugs....

Oh yeah, Girl Interrupted, forgot about that one. "Eat In Chicken".

TMZ updated that her mother found her in the shower unconscious. So sad :sad1:

How sad!! :( I remember first seeing her on the show "The Torkelsons" and then they changed the name to "Almost Home". Wow, so young...RIP

I was thinking the same thing. Yahoo has it on their front page now, but it references the TMZ report, too.

oh how sad, loved her movies and was looking forward to Tinkerbell when it had been reported she was voicing it, that never happened though.

This is...shocking. Wow. So sad. My roommate and I were always big fans of hers. :sad1: Thoughts and prayers for her family.

So sad, she was so young. :sad2:

She was great in Girl, Interrupted. I am suprised most people forgot about it as it was a challenging role and she was very good in it.

So so young.

I can't believe she passed away at such a young age. She was such a good actress.

I won't speculate on what caused this - just feeling terribly sad for her loved ones at this difficult time.. So very young! :(
