British Airways 2 Day Sale in Business Class - Good through Summer 2016

I will echo thanks for this! We just booked Iceland/Norway on the Magic for 2016 and I've been stressing over airfares for our family of 5. I was able to book business class for all of us for about $100 more than the cheapest economy flights I've priced and I figured this was a great opportunity to buy.

Question about Business class with kids though. I've never flown business class and actually our kids have never flown before period. We are going to have a long day of flying to Copenhagen (17 hrs total) so I figured Business class would be great for the extra room, ability to lay flat to sleep, food and lounge options, etc. Now that I've booked I'm worried if this was the right choice. Are (well behaved) children welcome in Business Class? My kids will be 7,6, and 3. The 3 year old is the only one I worry about (if he will want to walk around a bit or how he will sleep). Also, with the seat configurations will we be able to have an adult near each child? It looks like there are pods of 2 seats next to each other but that would leave one child out. Just wondering if anyone has flown business class with kids and can give me any advice. I still have 12 hrs to cancel the flight if needed.

Just wanted to add my thanks to the OP for sharing this information! I didn't see the post until this evening, and I thought I had missed out because I didn't see anything on the British Airways site about a promotion or sale. The business class tickets were definitely discounted, though, and using the AARP discount I scored $1500 tickets for DC to Barcelona. I'm so excited that we'll be flying in business class, with all the accompanying perks!

I've taken my DD's on British Air business class. They were 6 & 11 at the time. We are a family of four so we took the four seats in the middle and put the girls in the center. I suggest putting the 7 & 6 in the center and one adult on the connecting side and then your youngest and other adult in the two across the isle. You will be very comfortable, the kids will be in heaven and never want to go any other way! I'm guessing you'll see a lot of kids in business due to this sale. It is amusing for other passengers on their way to coach when they see your kids little bodies in their great big seats. Be sure to order the kids kid meals. On our flight home from LHR they had ice cream in the snack area. My youngest DD will never forget that.

If any of your flights are codeshares with American Airlines, you can select your seats on the AA website. You don't have to wait until check in.

I noticed this as well. On the British Airways site there was a message saying that we could pay to choose seats now or wait until check-in and choose seats for free. I clicked on the link, which took me to American Airlines where I chose seats for all 4 legs and was not charged a dime. Bonus!

On International flights especially during the summer and holidays, it is not unusual to see families with young children in Business class. My girls are teens now and they have flown business class quite a few times through out the years. They have always been treated very well and they love the extra space and comfort. As posted earlier, if any of your flights are on American, you can choose your seats now. If they are on BA, you may want to consider paying for seat assignments so you can get exactly what you want.

I couldn't figure out how to do it. Did you buy though American or British Air? I bought through British Air and when I hit the seat link it wants to charge me $120 a seat :(

It probably depends on whether you booked on BA metal or AA metal. If you have elite status with AA but are booked on BA, there is a hack that allows you to books seats for free on BA after changing your frequent flyer number on Finn Air. -- Suzanne

Our flights to BCN are BA codeshares with AA. Even though we have a BA flight number, the flights are on AA planes. I just went to the AA website, put in my BA confirmation and name and it pulled up my reservation allowing me to select seats on the AA flights. My return flights from Athens are on BA planes so I'm only given the option to pay for seats. Since my kids are teens/young adults, I'll wait until check in to choose seats on the BA flights.

I'll try again. Ours are all codeshares. I went to the American site, put in my BA confirm #, but it didn't find it. Thanks for the detailed info--hopefully I'll be able to get it to work.

I clicked on a link on the BA site after I finished making the reservation. It was on the right side of the screen and said "Select Seats," or something to that effect. Clicking on the link redirected me to the AA site. All 4 legs of our round trip between DC and BCN are on AA planes. Earlier today I decided to change our seats for two of the legs. I pulled up our reservation on BA's site and clicked on the link to change seat assignments. Good luck!

Try going through the "Manage My Booking" link in your confirmation email. That takes me directly to my reservation on the BA site and gives me the option to select seats on each leg of the flights.

Delightfully, Delta got in on this action as well. We were able to find fares a little better than American/BA- so we're Delta/Virgin Atlantic over to London, Air France/Delta back from Copenhagen. 3 people. $4100 for business class. Ridiculous- it's far less than I was finding in economy.

what did you have to do to book that deal? was it today?

Sadly on Friday. I'm at a conference so literally had to deal with it in between sessions and meetings and such. If you have an Am Ex, keep tabs on their travel portal, too.

Great price!! From reading a few other travel related boards it looks like United got in on the action as well for a few hours on Friday.
