Ok, this may seem like a silly question...
However, it makes sense to me. Could
you use the Crystal Light flavor packets
with a Brita Water Bottle??? It seems like
to me that it may "filter" out the flavor
crystals. Am I crazy? Not really sure
what kind of filtration it uses. I just
had this thought.

Anyone???

Drink mixes like Kool-ade and Crystal Light will get trapped the filter in a Brita bottle. Sugar and it's imitators are actually pretty big molecules. What you end up getting is just plain water and a clogged up filter.

If you want to have filtered and flavored water, you could fill a Brita bottle with water, then squeeze it out through the filter into some other sports bottle, to which you can add the flavor crystals. Anything other than water will clog the Brita filter and make it unusable.

I have used Crystal Light in my brita bottle with no problem at all. We normally take them on all our trips. Just make sure it is mixed up good before drinking it.

You CAN put a flavored drink through the filter and it will taste fine. I just took a swig of mine as I was typing this. Yummy grape water. Whether it messes up the filter or not is the question...and I guess if it does, oh well. That's the only way I'll drink water. It's still debatable whether or not tap water is going to be the death of us anyway. In fact, the arguments all seem to side on tap water being perfectly fine for us...it's all about taste for me. And I'll say right now, these Brita bottles taste perfect with Crystal Light mixed in. (Although the first swig isn't quite as good as the second after it's been sitting for a few minutes...)

I have read that you cannot use anything like Crystal Light while using the filter. It messes up the filter. So, you can filter the water thru and then add the mix separately afterwards.

Drink mixes mess withthe filter and lower the life of it as well. Filter the water, then add the drink mix. Same holds true for bobbles. Use the britta or bobble to filter the water into another sports bottle where you can add the drink mix and shake.

I just bring the brita pitcher on vacation and then pour into individual bottles where everyone can add (or not) anything they want.
