Bristol Palin and DWTS results

Yes, being that my child is a teenager, I'm aware of that. I guess it is fortunate for both him and me that I am still able to foresee some situations where he might get in trouble and head them off.

What I was saying in the first place is that if I thought my 14 year-old couldn't control his emotions enough to stop himself from responding to on-line criticism, he wouldn't be on the computer.

You and I are in the same boat.... I also have a ds14. :goodvibes We both know they can be unpredictable at times....Like you stated, some situations are predictable, but unless a problem has already occurred, some things are just hard to predict and take action on.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if Bristol has a high school diploma?

yes. After transferring to another school to live with her aunt - supposedly to keep her away from Levi. It either didn't work or it was too late (not gonna do the math)- as she transferred back to Wasilla ...and we all know what happened!!!!

Well, I'm glad for her sake that she at least graduated high school. I agree with those who said she and her son would be better served if she went to college instead of appearing on this show.

I am appalled at the level of bullying on this thread directed at Bristol & her family. If these comments were made to Bristol's face, charges of bullying could be made, & rightfully so.:sad2:

Not hardly. When you put yourself out there, people talk about you ~ good and bad.

Something her Mama has yet to learn.

I've been trying to think of the right word to describe what I thought of the Palin girls after reading the facebook conversation - the only words I could think of were classless and trashy.

Why does she need a college education? The girl thinks she's going to be a star. ;)

Would you mind quoting one of these "bullying" posts? I've been posting here all day, and I don't recall seeing one comment that could be construed as "bullying."

Wow, so because she had a baby the assumption is that she is uneducated and ignorant  She was working as a receptionist and she graduated high school.

I am appalled that the perfect mothers with the perfect children on this thread are being so vile to this young girl, all the while doing exactly what they claim to teach their children not to do.

So sad Sarah Palin can't read her childrens' minds like the rest of you.

And this was supposed to be a thread about DWTS, not a political free for all.

if those were my posts:

I merely said I felt she would be better served furthering her education than relying on the "cult of personality" her mother seems to despise. With the exception of DWTS, she does not seem to be doing well along those lines - she tried acting and that doesn't seem to be in her future. The only thing lft is to become a celeb and buy into that "cult...."

I don't believe anyone equated the pregnancy to uneducated or stated she was uneducated.

:rotfl2: legal or illegal, I'd prefer to see my kids use cocaine and hurt only themselves, than to use hate speech and hurt other people.

Sadly, cocaine users have been known to cause severe hurt to others in addition to themselves.

I haven't seen any bullying taking place on this thread. The only bullying that anyone has seen related to this came from Willow and Bristol Pallin. This thread is a somewhat respectable discussion (with the exception of yesterday's attack on Robinrs by a Palin supporter that has since been deleted), what these two young women took part in was a targeted attack on someone. As a society we need to stop excusing bullying by young people as just a natural part of being young and immature. Personally, I think that children learn this type of behavior from their parents and in their homes. There is no excuse for Sarah and Todd Pallin on this one.

well said!

If we don't hold the girls and the parents accountable - then we are saying this kind of heinous behavior are fine!!!! I agree this is learned and condoned in the home!

If they are capable of this, merely because someone commented that the show was failing, what are they capable of over something truly serious??! What have they seen or experienced int he home that would foster this kind of hatred?

I always tell my DD to feel sorry for the bullys in part. You just don't know what their private life is like and what they have experienced there to make them so hateful and to feel so badly about themselves that they act out this way.

I asked if Bristol graduated high school because I guess she had her baby while she was high school age. I don't think anybody called her "uneducated" or "ignorant."

So sad Sarah Palin can't read her childrens' minds like the rest of you.

Well, this is a skill Mrs. Palin should develop if she hopes to have any control over her children's behavior.

And not only can I read my son's mind, but I also have eyes in the back of my head. ;)

I think someone mentioned that Bristol might be better off going to college and persuing a degree, and I do agree with that.

I have never had the impression that she wanted to go into politics, and since she can't be on DWTS forever, or other reality shows forever, she should probably be thinking of the long-term future for herself and her child.

Even though her family has money, that money may not last forever, and it would probably be better for her (and her child) if she could become financially independent, at some point down the road, hopefully the more nearer future.

and don't forget - they ARE PERFECT to begin with, so there is that as well!;)

Just heard a rumor that Bristol will be on The Celebrity Apprentice!!

now that should be interesting given she will have to work with others (sometimes not so nice as those on DWTS by a long shot)- under pressure!!!!

If the "Facebook" incident is any indicator, it may be harder for her maintain that little demeanor of hers!!!!

OK, I read the first 2 pages of this thread and the last 2 and somehow it's become like a game of "telephone" as the message has completely changed!

Back to the OP's original intent with regard to Bristol and DWTS - has anyone heard of www.votefortheworst.com? I haven't been on it this season but it's what has kept such stars at Cloris Leachman on DWTS as long as she was, and other equally terrible performers on AI and other shows where the audience votes. Something tells me that VFTW has got quite a following to keep Bristol in the game.

And regardless of your political opinions, Bristol Palin is NOT her mother. She's just a girl who made a mistake and she is using her name and her mother's name to hopefully make a difference for other young girls out. So cut her some slack....
