Bristol Palin and DWTS results

Unfortunately, you can vote for anyone for whatever reason you want. You don't have to vote for the best dancer and therefore anyone can win this show.

Unless they change the rules - the best dancer doesn't always win.

Exactly. You can vote for anyone for any reason that you want. There is nothing that says that you are required to vote for the person who executed the steps the best. I don't know why this is so hard to understand. :confused3

I think what throws people off is that the show isn't even sure what it wants to be. If it is simply about who the voters like than just leave it at that. However, by having the 3 dancing judges go and critique each dance as if it were being done in a professional competition, then the creators are sending the message that it is about who is dancing the best.

Until they figure out a way to correctly identify what they, the producers, are looking for, then people will continue to have these debates. However I have a feeling that all they care about is their sponsors and viewers.

Thanks for ruining the show for me. I taped it for my daughter and I because we had to go out last night, now there's no sense watching it. Maybe you should change the title to avoid ruining it for many others.
 I've had show spoiled by folks on the DIS too. It's easy to avoid the DWTS thread but not so easy to avoid threads with the results in the title. Tink1969, just think next time you spoil the show for people ... it's really not nice and you could have easily changed the title right away like crashbb asked you THREE minutes after you first posted. I'm positive that you checked the thread last night so your refusal to change it says a lot ...

Back to the issue of Ms. Palin. Bristol had the lowest scores in FIVE out of the last SIX shows but her mom's fans just keep on bringing her back from the dead. I have to wonder what kind of backlash there will be is Bristol actually wins because I am certain she will be the lowest scored dancer next week too.

Especially when the first post was 15 minutes after the end of the east coast broadcast. A time when CNN etc. are not posting the results (or, at least, not without large spoilers).

I agree with Robinb and Toad_Passenger. Bristol is almost always at the very bottom on the judges' score, yet manages to keep pulling through. Either get rid of the judges' scores or make the judges' scores count for more.

Silly result, and I'm sure there are a lot of Mom's followers who are voting.

I agree with the poster that stated anyone with dancing experience should not be there. Agreed, Jennifer is really good, but duh!, she was really good in Dirty Dancing too!! As far as Bristol goes, I do think she is what the show should be about, someone that has absolutely no experience, but with that said, she is not very good and should not win. However, we all know that since anybody can vote, many fans of her mother are voting for her just because of who she is. My vote goes to Kyle, what a personality and he truly has pulled it off. I love to see him dance. He is so light on his feet and can really move! Although he is well known, it wasn't for starring in a movie with a dancing part. Jennifer will probably win, but I hope it's Kyle.

I agree. I don't watch as much anymore but I liked the first few seasons better. When 6's were great scores in the first few weeks. And you saw major improvements each week.

I was really hoping that Bristol would be gone last night. Yes she has improved but she is not near the caliber of Brandy. They need to change their judging system to give more weight to the judges scores.

:thumbsup2 Some people don't care if they ruin a show for others. It's kinda sad, but what can you do? Being considerate to others is dying out.

I just hope that Bristol doesn't win it. She may be the most improved but doesn't deserve to win over Kyle or Jennifer. But, like others have said, this has nothing to do with who is the best dancer. It's all a popularity contest.

Not everyone posts with intent to spoil... not everyone thinks about the different time zones. I sure don't. It's what's happening at the time, and call me self-centered, but people on the west coast don't cross my mind if I'm thinking about something that is taped. I've accidently let a spoiler for Glee loose on FB. A friend of mine **nicely** asked me to not do it again and I really try not too. Give OP a break. I highly doubt spoiling your evening was #1 on their mind.

As stated, I've been guilty of that myself. You're watching, thinking, then you post - it's not live TV like for say a sporting event that is viewed across the nation... it was most likely an honest mistake - and maybe, just maybe, OP wasn't sure how to change the title on the thread.

The timezone thing was pointed out three minutes after she posted. When was the last time you started a thread and didn't hang out to see the responses? You're right ... maybe she didn't know how to change the title and in that case maybe she should have said "Sorry! I didn't know how to change the title!" instead of getting all snarky about how the people she spoiled shouldn't look at other media.

I don't think she intended to spoil the show but she did and my issue with it is that she doesn't seem care that she did.

Yea, its getting ridiculous now....I mean Bristol is OK....but I wanted Brandy to win..I adore her, and she has gone thru so much in the last few years.:headache: Jennifer Grey is a whiner...ugghhh:mad:

Fair enough. It's tough anymore to view stuff like that and feel strong enough to post and want people to celebrate/comiserate with that the thought process isn't always fully thought out.

ETA - I don't always hang around after a post. Sometimes I post and then take off for a bit... but normally yes, curiousity generally gets the best of me...

Welcome to Team Kyle!

I agree that Bristol shouldn't be on the show anymore, but then, I didn't think she should have been on it in the first place. It's Dancing with the Stars, not Dancing with the politician's daughters, or Dancing with the has-beens. :lmao: And Bristol is not the first, nor will she be the last. There have been plenty of non-stars in past seasons, and I didn't think they should have been there, either. ;)

Bristol has improved a lot, but not as much as Kyle has, and both Kyle and Jennifer have much more talent than she does. I've seen the Facebook messages and Tweets from Sarah Palin fans, encouraging everyone to vote for her, even though they've never watched a minute of Dancing with the Stars in their lives. It seems to me her success is more political than anything else.

I was jumping for joy when Brandy when last night. She is such a whiny little ***** that I could not take another week of her.

They always say to vote for who you want to see dance again next week not who you think danced best today. Many want to see Bristol dance again next week.

So far I have not voted but next week I will be voting for Kyle. He is so much fun to watch dance.

DWTS is a fun show where people get to vote for their favorites, for whatever reason they choose. There are people who are voting for Jennifer because they love how she dances, and there are people voting for her because they loved Patrick Swayze and Dirty Dancing. People may have voted for Brandy because they thought she was a great dancer, and some may have voted for her because they thought she was pretty and liked her singing. Kyle may have gotten many votes because his fans from his Disney show were voting for him, some may be voting for him because he seems so happy and friendly, and some are voting for him because they think he has shown much improvement.

Is it Bristol's fault that she has many people voting for her for whatever reason they choose? I, personally, think Kyle's technique is sloppy, but he is a joy to watch. I think Jennifer is a whiny crybaby, and no matter how great she dances I refuse to vote for her because I am disgusted that Derek always gets the people with the most potential. Brandy I couldn't have cared less about. There was something about her that irked me. As far as Bristol goes, I am thrilled that she's made it this far. I wish all the contestants started out with the same level of dancing experience. That would be a fair show. Until the show's matra changes, "vote for who you want to see come back next week", I really don't get what all the crying is about. Just like American Idol, where the best singer doesn't always win, on DWTS, the best dancer may not always win.

No doubt, we have all made mistakes and probably ruined a show or outcome for someone on here. It's not so much that she did that, it's her whole attitude about it.

She didn't bother to changer the title, or ask how to do that. Instead, the only response she gives is a smartaleck comeback to a poster who was upset about having the outcome ruined for her and her daughter. No apology, no bad feelings, nothing. Just an ugly attitude.

OMG, that guy needs some serious help. And for the poster who thought that people were getting to wrapped up and emotional over the show because they posted their disgust on a message board, why don't you drop this guy a line. It sounds like he is in deeper then anyone here. :rotfl:

Did he think the TV made the decision? How is shooting it going to help anything and why turn the gun on you wife? Did she vote for Bristol? I'm guessing he didn't vote for Palin in the elections either. :lmao:
