We're booked with Eastjet Bristol to Barcelona next month and were looking yesterday at Bristol to Orlando flights with First Choice for March.

Can't do much about the Barcelona trip, except wait and see what happens, but we might hang fire on booking for Orlando for a few days!

The fact that there are other airlines continuing to use Bristol, and the regulators have passed it as ok, make me optimistic about the outcome, but it's still a bit unsettling.

Hope no-one here is disrupted by the cancellations and delays this weekend.

Just heard on the radio that 49 flights have been cancelled or diverted to Cardiff and Birmingham today.

It appears that they are diverting flights and also cancelling flights due to the concerns over the runway.

Purely selfishly, it would be better for me if our flight is diverted to Cardiff!

...although I did hear that for the diverted flights, the instruction is to check-in at Bristol as normal before being bused to another airport Maybe not such a good option after all!

Seriously, safety is obviously the main factor and the current disruptions are a pain, but the runway concerns need to be cleared up to the airlines' satisfaction a.s.a.p.

Hi we live in Bristol and as far as we can see now also BA and first choice have cancelled all flights.
The Civial Avation Authority gave the runway the 'all clear' after a further inspection but the airlines are concerned that 'grooves' that are needed for breaking in wet weather have not been carried on the tarmac.
They are diverting everyone via coach to either Luton or Gatwick/Heathrow.

It's chaos.

We have friends who are off to DLPR in two weeks and they called Easy jet - and they said to phone two days before travelling for an update!
