Bringing your own food

I would love some clarification on cans, bringing a couple sodas would be great!

You can totally bring cans of soda in. I do it all the time! Usually I bring in some Diet Coke in a styrofoam cup with lid and straw. Then I have, usually, 2 or 3 cans of Diet Coke in my baggalini. Never had a problem, as long as it's not glass. It's a little heavy at first, but as I drink them, it gets lighter. :goodvibes

Okay, and don't think I'm really weird (or cheap!) but I also bring along a gallon size ziploc to put my styrofoam cup in when I go on rides. It's especialy handy when riding on Screamin' After having everything in my bag get wet a few times, it's the best option. Or you can put your drink cup down near the exit but you do run the risk of them throwing it away. Happened to me a few trips ago. :scared1: I use the ziploc when I have a purchased soda too-I hate to get rid of a soda just because I'm going on a ride.

We also bring in snacks, as well. Again, no problem. :goodvibes

im planing on getting some bottles for each of us before leaving those ones that go around neck and shoulder and have a good lid. Kinda like the one i had when went to horse camp for girlscouts when was 12 or 13 lol it became my drinking cup for years it worked well was never to heavy and it worked when i was skateing alot (lol use to be huge skater, couldnt do half the tricks i could then)

How do you all bring in your food/drinks? Do you lug it around all day? Do the rides have cubbies to store stuff while riding?

I don't know. I want to bring in some drinks/snacks, but logistically I'm not sure how to do it. When the kids were little, we had a stroller, and it was easy to stuff a cooler into the basket. But they are 6 and 8 now, so no need for a stroller. If you can't bring a rolling cooler, then what? We sure don't want to carry around a small softsided cooler all day.

You can carry in a small soft sided cooler and stick it in a locker once inside. Ir rent a stroller insice (free with dis visa) and push around your cooler. I don't think a kid is a requirement for renting a stroller!

They do have lockers right by the entrance to both parks... from what i hear you pay one fee and its your all day you can open and close when you would like... but since they are good all day you have to go eairly to get one!

We mainly bring waters and snack things like granola bars, since the guys in my family can't eat most of the "fun" foods at Disney (issues with corn syrup and related products). When a water is empty, we tend to refill the bottle, or just get a free cup of ice water from any restaurant. We have brought in several bottles of water (bottom of the stroller) but I hate leaving them in the stroller (we had something stolen from a stroller last Sept) and they get warm SO fast, that we end up just taking them back to the hotel room to go right back in the fridge.

Even if we drank soda anymore (high fructose corn syrup is the really evil one) we wouldn't pay the prices in the parks, but we weren't big drinkers of it before we stopped, so probably just a 20 oz bottle would have worked to share between me and hubby anyway.

YOu really can't beat free cups of ice water! Some say it doesn't taste good, but I didn't notice a difference at all.

Hi there! I tried PMing you, but it wouldn't let me until I have 10 posts. Do you have any recommendations of food/places to eat at Disneyland? I have a reservation for Goofy's dinner and hope there will be something I can eat at the buffet. I know I'm going to want something sweet when I'm there. :(

Thanks!

Hi ! After I posted, I realized that you might not have enough posts to send PM's so I'm glad that you posted on here again. :) I'll try sending you a PM tomorrow.....It looks like you might have enough posts by then. I have eaten at Goofy's for brunch, but had to avoid all the sweets :( But, I do have some other ideas of things that I've done to survive the dietary restrictions. It was challenging but it sure was better than feeling "icky" at Disneyland!

my sons gona be 6 and still gna use his stroller i fill safer knowing where he is too. were gona put a soft sided coller in the bottom. usely we just put things in the bags

We usually pack botteled water and snacks(granola bars, pb crackers, nuts etc.) I just put it all in the backpack and carry it around. We refill at the drinking fountains.

When we used to come and drive up from San Diego we did the lockers at the front of the park and break and eat lunch there and it worked well. There are also lockers on main street and it is air conditioned in there.. so a soft cooler with minimal ice would do well in there I bet!

Thank you so much! I'd really appreciate some tips on surviving Disneyland with Candida. I'm trying so hard to be good now, and I hope that I can have a bite or two of something bad just so that I don't feel completely deprived.

I'm planning on bringing almonds, almond butter, carrot sticks and water.

Thanks!

Usually I just carry it in my bag. But if we are going to be there all day, or it gets too full (like maybe when we add Dream Prizes like ears!) then I have the option of getting a stroller (free with Disney Visa) DD8 is actually still able to ride in it if she needs to, but hasn't in awhile. The funny thing is when I'm pushing it around with all our stuff on it (this works really well when it's more than just DD and I going, like my DM or DSis's) I've had a few little kids ask me where my baby was? :rotfl2: I tell them I don't have a baby, just a stroller.

Also, you can put things in the lockers by GRR (for up to 2 hours) for free while riding GRR. Of course, there's no locker police checking to make sure you get your stuff out immeadiately after you ride. I've never done it but you could leave a small cooler in there after you get off the ride and then say have the kids check out Redwood Creek Challenge Trail (which they will love  ) Of course, if everyone did this, then the lockers may not be available when you want one. Just a thought.

I am so not looking forward to our first trip to WDW without a stroller :scared1: The last few years we've brought our stroller even though DD really didn't need it-I did! Since it's usually just DD, DM, and myself, I don't have strong man to help carry things. And usually my DM will lighten her purse, which leaves me to carry everything else (camera, video camera, personal items, water bottles, snacks, mister fans, ponchos, cool cloths, bathing suit for DD, etc.) Yikes  , even thinking of it now makes my back hurt! :faint: Oh, and I'm not a back pack kind of girl-never used them in school (we actually had lockers) and hate the idea of carrying a big, heavy, hot bag on my back during the heat, and humidity, of September.

What does everyone like to use when bringing personal items, lunch etc. into DL? I have been meaning to ask. I might ask this question too, as a new topic.
I personally do not like the idea either of carrying a backpack around all day long, and I do not want any of my purses becoming bottomed out, from snacks and cans of soft drinks etc. see this is when one needs to have a b/f or husband to carry everything, that idea works very well for me, now all that I need is the one, or the other, or depending upon my energy level, both! ;) he!he!
