Bringing wine with us

I brought bottles to dinner (twice, and they were already opened) on the Med cruise in 2007 and was not charged. The servers even kept the unfinished bottles for us and they were on the table the next night.

It can place the servers in a situation, the corkage fee is explained very well in a previous post and most people do not like it. So if charged people will tend to knock it of a servers tip at the end of the week, feeling that's justice. So then the server, decides when they can, not to charge.

Our table didn't even ask them if there was a fee, we just showed up with the bottle. I suppose they were on their own deciding whether or not to add the charge.
