Hello,

Is there any reason we should have an issue bringing our vapes into the parks with the new security? I've never brought them into the parks and I didn't even think about it until someone recently asked me. In reality I don't see why it would be an issue but you never know

thanks!

I don't know what the official policy is, but I see people just walking and vaping all the time, so it must be okay to bring it in.

They are allowed in the parks, but must be used in the designated areas.

I don't see why there would be a problem. They aren't prohibited in the parks, so you can bring them in (but please, use in the designated smoking areas).

What are vapes?

AKK

OK......e cig.........as a pp mentioned they are permits in the designated smoking areas only.

You can bring them in, but per the Disney park rules they are to be treated exactly like actual cigarettes. Vapers must use the designated smoking areas.

Please use the same guidelines as cigarettes with vapes. There were some very rude people down there that were using them while walking leaving a trail behind them.

I certainly can understand why someone would ask with all the new security checks. Some of them are quite large and most of them could resemble "devices of harm". There are quite a few brands of them that are purposely designed and made to look like pipe bombs.

No matter where you are, taking anything that looks like a pipe bomb, knife, gun, kidnapped child, etc. in to anywhere that has security is asking for issues.

thanks everyone,

The ones we use are not the long slender ones that look like tubes, They're more like a small metal box which is where my concern was. I do not plan to vape in any areas other than where designated. Someone I work with told me a cast member told them they could vape in their rooms but that doesn't even make sense to me. That cast member must not have been properly informed on the policies because it would seem the rules should be in place both in and out of the parks when you're on property.

You are correct. :)

Phone CMs don't work in the parks or hotels and are often not even in Florida, so they don't ultimately have a clue as to how things work when actually in parks or hotels.

When going through any type of security line with something out of the ordinary, be calm and pleasant and willing to answer questions. Flying with a non-Apple MP3 showed me that security people get used to one thing, and something different confuses them. My funky-shaped Rio MP3 player really through them for a loop more than once. :)

Of course, if it's a rectangle, they might just think it's an external battery for a phone, LOL.

In this case, I'd suggest that you carry the packaging along with your device (is that the right way to refer to it? I dunno) so that if there is a question, the CM can see the package that identifies what it is.

I've gone into the parks before with my box mod and they did ask what it was, and when I told them an e-cig, they said ok, and continued on.

So they are to be used in smoking area then? Last week I saw more than one person using them strolling along a very crowded MK. sort of annoyed me too. I don't care if it isn't a cigarette, I don't want smoke blown on my face as I walk by.

Yes, they should only be used in the designated smoking area. Honestly though, I don't think they do a good enough job educating those in the parks though.

There are people who show up to Hollywood Studios and don't know what Toy Story Mania is or how to get to Tower of Terror, which is fine. But in no way do I expect those same people to know Disney'a policy in regard to e-cigs.

You shouldn't have an issue, but if you want to be on the safe side, you can do the same thing I do when going through TSA, bring either the manual or the box the mod came in(if it did). I did this with my Sig 150 not too long at the airport and didn't have an issue.

Better to be on the safe side if anything, but I don't see it as an issue. Like everyone else has said, please do use the designated areas and don't be like the other idiots I see using them outside of it. It gives vapors a bad name and we don't need anymore bad publicity.
