I have my fingers crossed in the hopes that DCL will also do the same for this cruise:
Not sure who posted about this but this was sevvverrrrraaaaaallllll long pages back but (going off the May cruise) Disney gave every stateroom a book on the making of the Panama Canal. It was called "Portrait of the Panama Canal" with text written by William Friar although she introduced herself as Willie Friar. She also held the post of Panama Canal director for the last 10 years before she retired. Very nice lady. Anyway, I'm hoping they'll do this also for this cruise. It was a nice gesture and served as a momento for the captain to sign. Also, on the nights that DH and I went to Palo's we missed out on some treats like the little maracas
shaped like mickey and minnie. However, the table next to us was able to get the red and white mouseketeer badges and they saved them for us. SOOOOOOO - my suggestion would be- assuming you have tablemates and ressies for Palo - ask them if they can pickup any mementos that the head server may give that way you all don't miss out on anything.
BTW, DCL had all kinds of guest speakers onboard; among them was Ducky Williams. On the last day of the cruise DCL gave every stateroom a signed lithograph from Mr. Williams. It was nice but oversized. I was afraid to pack it in the suitcase for getting it wrinkled but I wasn't the only one. It seems that almost every other person was carrying the same white folder. I'm hoping that they will also do the same for this return cruise. Hope I didn't spoil anything for anyone if you didn't already know about this. Sorry if I did. This just came to me and it spilled out. I haven't been able to read the newsletter so wasn't sure if this was mentioned. Later - have more catching up to do. Haven't even started physically packing yet. Mentally - I'm just about done.
Anyway, see you all soon. Laura
