Bringing The Magic Home - 8/20/05

:cat:

Deb could you add me to the Trivial Pursuit players? Estelle, room 7010. I promise not to run away with the game.

Lots of Pixie Dust to all those flying anywhere out of England right now. Sounds like they are having nasty problems.

Packing pretty much done, will be going over the carry on again to check for anything I haven't packed, like the kitchen sink. :rotf2:

I made this collage and had photocards made (200) that I would like to give out onboard they are 5x7 and come with envelopes....I'll have them at the wine-tasting and the first Dis meet...if you would like one just find me at one of the events!!! Most are pics that I have taken on my previous Magic cruises and ones that I thought represent Bringing the Magic Home!!! I know I always feel at home once back onboard!!

MJ

That is so cool and very nice of you. I'll have to remember to find you, because I'd love to have one of these!

I am trying to convince my DH to get our luggages. It will eventually show up. Does anyone have any information about the wireless as I thought it would occur during dry dock. How much will the wireless cost. I guess going to have to bring my laptop more packing to do.

Thanks. Good luck to all who like me wait to the last second to pack.:rotfl:

The cost for the internet cafe and wireless will be the same. You can either pay per minute (75 cents) or buy packages of minutes. Don't quote me on this but I believe one is $55 for 100 minutes, 250 minutes for $100 or 300 minutes for $105 (this last option is only offered for our sailing). They will not have any unlimited options available for either and from what we've heard, if you buy a package on wireless, you cannot use the minutes on either wireless or internet cafe, you must use them all on wireless. You can buy a package on both, but the minutes don't mix. Make sense?

I somehow deleted the email with the last newsletter. Can someone please send it to me at nordkin at aol dot com?

I found the email. My partner saved it in a different place than usual.

Anyone else last minute shopping?

I can't believe after nine months to get ready I'm still shopping. And of all things to be looking for, a traveling wine bottle opener. :rotfl:

Safe travels to all leaving this weekend.

Yep, I can always shop whether last minute or not! I just got this bag from LL Bean thanks to MJ and I love it. It was at my house yesterday when I got home from work.

BTW - Thanks for the reminder about the travelling wine bottle opener. I totally forgot about that! Guess I'll be going out later for this.

Don't go out and buy a traveling wine opener if it's just for the winetasting as there will be plenty available. If you need it to open another bottle of wine for yourself, great!! Just trying to save that extra shopping trip ;)

Our wine opener always travels with us! :rotfl2:

Done shopping (I think). Not done packing. Started cleaning the house yesterday and broke a light bulb and a Donal Duck picture from DH's Den (OOPS!). He told me I was done cleaning. :rolleyes1 I am finishing up my volunteer coordinator stuff for DD's school this week and I am off duty until school starts!

Have a good weekend! Lots of last minute stuff for us to do (haircuts, more cleaning, laundry, etc. etc.)

If I suddenly announced that I had to go shopping for this cruise Phil and the girls would shoot me. I have been telling them that everything I have bought in the last year and a half is "for the cruise." Even the winter pants I just bought. :rotfl2:

It is hot and humid here but Phil keeps reminding me that the temp in Cabo for the last two or three weeks has been 99 or 100. Glad we are taking the catamaran excursion. I might be a little cooler on the water.

Just tie dyed a shirt I plan to wear on the flight from here to Ca. It is a sinch. You use Sharpie Markers and rubbing alcohol. Oh and of course rubber bands. The shirts look just like ones done the old way. And your hands aren't died along with the shirt.

Only 4 days until we leave. Phil admitted at lunch that he is getting excited. Was tempted to ask what took him so long. But refrained.

I'm on the west coast and it is 12:30 here. I can't help but think about the fact that next week at this time we should all be on (or just about on) the ship!! :cool1:

My neighbors left today for the last west coast cruise and it is making me even more excited (if that is possible)!!

I'm also stressing over all the packing I still have to do!

Started orgainizing all the "stuff" I have purchased for this cruise and WOW - do we have alot of "stuff". Tomorrow we pull all the clothes out of the closets. Now - what is the luggage limit? :rotfl:

I've been collecting "stuff" for a year and a half & now that I've found it all I may not have room to take clothes. Time to start removing "stuff" from the pile. :confused3

The luggage limit is what has me worried. Two checked bags each for the airlines. Luckily Air tran has a 70lb limit, but I'm trying to go lighter as I'm sure we will be bringing back more than we came with :teeth: Right now we are at three bags and packing an empty duffle for what comes home.

The luggage weigh in comes tomorrow, then we'll see if I have to put the luggage on a diet :rotfl:

I'm back from Las Vegas...I haven't been there since 1989...what a change, they realized everyone can gamble anywhere, they have to do something extra...had an excellent time, but now...am I the only person wandering around in a daze, trying to fathom that the cruise is 6 days away ? I CANNOT wait, and am sort of ready, but amazed that it is actually happening !!! We booked within the first hour, it was always far away, and now it is reality !!! Wishing everyone safe travels and we'll see you on the ship.

Does anyone else clean their house like a crazy person right before they go on vacation? I have been cleaning for two days (blinds, hardwood floors, cob webs in corners, door frames, etc. etc.) DH thinks I am crazy but I like to come home to a clean house and our neighbors will be in and out because they are taking care of the dog. :dog2:

Anyway, One more bathroom in the morning and then to finish packing! :goodvibes

Three more days of work! I am so ready for a LONG and RELAXING vacation! :cloud9:

I'm with you Roxann! Cleaned most of the day yesterday. Bill said why clean the floors (mop). I said yes they'll have dust when we get home, but I can run the swiffer over then and it'll be clean again. I'll finish cleaning today and finish packing today :cheer2:

See everyone soon!!
