Bringing The Magic Home - 8/20/05

I can't believe in 3 weeks we will be on the ship and preparing for our first late seating dinner. Wow, that means we will be eating at 1130 pm our time. Hmmmm, may need to see if I can change to early seating. I like the late seating, but my dh isn't a big fan because he said he is too full to then enjoy any midnight buffet. Of course if he didn't think he had to try so many of the appetizers and entrees at one sitting he wouldn't be so full.

Still no docs. :sad2:

Thanks for all the Palo replies. I think I will ask on the cruise board so I can get more replies. I don't want him to be uncomfortable if he is under dressed. I know getting im in a suit fior 4 nights is going to be enough for him.

I have a great pic from an early cruise with DS in a long shirt and vest, there was no way I was getting him in a suit. As for your DH, I know this is going to sound weird, but try some resale shops. Same DS (16) has picked up a couple of really nice suit jackets at Salvation Army for less than $5. Funny how the discovery of girls changes their outlook on dressing up. :cool1:

Oh the packing is driving me around the bend!! :sad2:
I bought a nice outfit for the boys for formal night - no jacket but a vest, white shirt, tie, black pants for formal night. Thinking DH would wear a nice dark suit. But now he says his suit doesn't fit anymore (LOL) and he doesn't want to buy another one just for the cruise and I should just rent a tux for him. But what about semi formal night? And the boys and I really aren't that "formally" dressed now compared to him - pictures going to look funny? Silly to fuss so much I know, but I guess that is part of the fun of planning

Wide awake, have you considered having some of the stuff mailed to the ship? I know they don't accept foodstuffs, and I wouldn't take a chance with the meds but the bubble bath and some other stuff should be safe.

I just know I am going to have trouble with the two bag 70lb (airtran) limit. I am mailing a box this week.

I have positively bought everything I could use for several cruises. LOL Now I have to start weeding out and decide exactly what I am taking. Then weigh it and probably discover I'm way over the 50 pound limit.
Only 20 days or for us 18. :jumping1: I will start freaking out anytime now.

Hi Estelle,

I know exactly where you are coming from. I need to stay away from the stores. I keep finding things I just have to have for the cruise. I will probably have enough to last an extra week. We normally cruise out of Port Canaveral so don't have to worry about the weight limit on luggage but with having to go to Ca I am really going to have to make sure I don't hit the weight limit. Thank goodness I won't have to worry about it when we get back to Florida since we will be driving home. Guess that means I can buy LOTS of souvenirs.

Can't believe we are this close to going. Thought it would never get here.

I am wearing my tropical Mickey dress right now, wishing it were time! Gonna go meet a fellow cruiser at the local pool in an hour or so! Let the pre-celebration begin! Then back to the sewing machine and continue with the pirate costumes!

Thanks Scott! We'll keep you posted en route! :cheer2:

Tracy,

What a nice surprise to come to check my e-mail and find the newsletter. Have read it through and printed it out for dh since he doesn't visit the boards. Wanted to make sure he was aware of all that was going on.

Thanks again for all you have done.

Yea for Tracy!!!:jumping1::rockband: :thewave:

The news letter looks great. Now all I have to do is read it and mark up the important parts for Phil to read. :rolleyes2 Lucky me.

Carol, I know what you mean. We have driven from Pa. to WDW and our two cruises. It is so much easier not having to worry about how much all that vitally important stuff weighs.

Andy/Verandah Man-- Thanks for the good wishes and right back at you. Hope the knee surgery goes great. Pixie dust from Pa to NJ. Are you replacing it yet? :sunny:

Wow - Great newsletter!!!! Thanks for sending it to me, again. Don't know what happened the first time. I can't believe all the stuff in the packing list. I sort of wish I hadn't read it - my suitcase became overloaded just thinking about the stuff I had not thought of.

Definately logging off now to check my email:charac2:
