Bringing The Magic Home - 8/20/05

Hello again everyone! :wave2:

Hi Bill & Bill- I had no idea about that concert at Hollywood bowl. You are sure to have a great time. I also did not know about the stamp event at DL!?! (all this cruise planning has me seriously behind. LOL)

It is my DD's pre school graduation and my Birthday on 6/16 so that will be a memorable/emotional Birthday for me. :flower:

Just an FYI for any of the moms and dads onboard: I just stocked up on my DD's swimsuits and cover up's at Disney store. They were on sale for $10-$12 a piece. We also got her sunglasses for $4.00.

I have been trying to book excursions for days online and no luck. The site is always down. I think I am going to have to call??? Anyone else having this problem online?

Well thats it for now. We are so excited to meet our fellow shipmates onboard.

Kirsty

PS Tracy thanks for a great newsletter!

You need to call to book your excursions. That prt of the website isn't working yet. I'll have to check out the Disney Store.

We are booked for the DCL excursion Chiff Divers Show and Restaurant. Meeting time is 10:15. Denine, is that the one you are on? I agree with you about feeling safer doing it that way. We are still toying with the idea of cancelling it though and doing it on our own. But then again Roberto said that the chances of getting shade this way is greater and that is something very important to me. I agree with the meal, good or bad who cares when it comes to safety. Can you tell I am thoroughly confused? Glad I am not alone.

I love the bracelet idea but my wonderful dd got me a lime green one with Mickey heads on it.

I really need to start focusing on the cruise more and make some definite decisions. Can you believe how fast it is approaching?

Bill and Bill, I have a Palo's ressie for two and it will only be me dining so if mom wants to join me I'd be delighted, PM me.

As for excursions, I advise calling. The web site is great for some things, but not excursions.

I can completely understand trusting DCL when you have little ones. Since my DD is 13 I feel OK with booking excursions other than DCL. So far we are river rafting with a group of SOF friends in Acapulco and the night dive tour. again with SOF friends. We doing something called the animal encounter scuba dive at the curacoa aquarium found this by doing some internet research. We are going horseback riding with DCL in Cabo, unless I can find a pirate cruise, that would be my DD idea of heaven.

My DW and I will be on the August repositioning cruise. We can hardly wait!

Hi,
As you can see we have one perpetually big puppy (Bailey ) and two cats. Last time we visitied Disneyland in March 2005 we hired a house sitter that came well recommended by my friend who knew her very well. It worked really well, Bailey was able to stay in the comfort of her own home. On our pervious family vacation in May of 2004 we took her to a kennel and I felt awful having to leave her in that environment. Not that it was a bad kennel or unclean but a cage and a run is not a back yard and a couch. Another reason I would hire a house sitter is so that I would not have to give Bailey her immunization shots which I don't agree with giving to dogs/cats on a yearly basis. So with a house sitter the kitties were well taken care of, and the house was lived in and looked after, and Bailey could sleep and play were she felt comfortable. No wild parties or damage from neither Bailey or the house sitter. She was really great. She even let Bailey sleep with her in the guest bedroom. In fact we are going to hire her again for the repo cruise. The cost of having a house sitter was as reasonable as putting Bailey into a kennel. $15.00 per day. So it made my vacation much more enjoyable knowing everyone was being taken care of.

Martina: I just love that picture of Bailey - he is too cute! :)
Lisa F I was also admiring those 3 kitties. They look so cuddly :flower:
I thought I should try to get a picture of Whiskers (the cat) up but don't have a clue what to do.
Would anyone be able to give me some easy instructions or direct me to the place to find out what to do?
Thanks!
Diane

Welcome to revins, Bill & Bill and woody73. Getting the newsletter is the best way to find all the neat things the SOF have planned for the two weeks of a life time! :moped:

Allan would you put us down for two of the bracelets, please. One medium, and one adult. Thanks (message to brain, bring $6.00).

I love all the pictures of the animals. Especially Bailey and Lisa Fs' trio of felines. Would post ours but like Diane have no idea how to do it and I'm not sure they would hold still long enough.

rsschneck - that sounds like the excursion we are on for the cliff divers.
I think I'm sticking with DCL for the exact same reason you posted.
We'll have to get our DDs together!

UMTerp

DD would like that! She will be stuck with 4 adults and would probably like a little friend for the day! :cloud9:

Has anyone heard how the Curacao Canoe and Snorkel Safari was? We are booked for that and was hoping someone from May would respond to my question. So far no one has. I thought that perhaps someone here has seen something posted regarding it.

Welcome to all the new people finding us here!

Hi Bill & Bill,

It would be great to meet up sometime before the cruise! Right now I'm full-to-the-brim with my end of the work school year, but I hope we can meet up sometime prior. Did not know about the Hollywood Bowl concert, lucky you guys!

I'm PMing you now my e-mail address. E-mail me, and I'll give you some more info. Also, the newsletters are great resources.

Barbara :)

Thank you so much for the warm welcome, DisneyElf and entpnt.

I just learned of the DISboards -- what a wonderful community! Had I known about it earlier, it would have been nice to meet many of you at the Port of Los Angels when the Disney Magic arrived (my DW was on the May repositioning cruise).

Has anyone booked an independent sailing and snorkel tour in Curacao for Tuesday, Aug. 30 (the day the August repo cruise is in Curacao)? If so, I would love to hear about it, and join you if possible. I contacted several Curacao sailing tour operators, but they tour on Wednesday and Friday only.

Also, can anyone tell me if DCL's Curacao excurison "Spanish Water Snorkel Tour (CR04)" is provided by Atlantis Adventures? Thanks.

Hey, we're booked on that too! Gosh, I thought we were the only ones on this excursion! See ya there!

Welcome to all the new cruisers!

Since we're talking about excursions, is anyone going golfing on their own? I found a few sites about golfing in Acapulco, now just trying to find out where they are in relation to the terminal.

We thought we'd go to CiCi on our own, then DS 11 and I will go back to ship while DH and DS 13 go golfing.

Any suggestions?

Deb
