Bringing The Magic Home - 8/20/05

Read about the Cliff Diver excursion being offered for us "Fools"
sounds great, but need more information on the times.
We have second seating for dinner but are on the wait list for early dinner. I do want to eat on the ship since I've read that food at the resturant is not good.

I hope that 7 day Rainforest is 7 days worth of passes also. Does anyone know the current cost of 1 visit, it use to be $15.

I see that the rates have dropped for our cruise, I was paying $6182.67. (cat. 10 GTY no ins or trans) I did tranfer them to Costco which dropped it down to $5666.67. I went online last night and found that DCL new rate is $5203.75. I sent Costco Travel an e-mail today to see if they'll adjust my rate to the new one and also discount the new rate. If not I'm hoping that I still have time to cancel and rebook.

I'm out of here the weather here in Maryland is beautiful, I'm going out and get me :wave2: some rays.
You'll have a great day too.

Are you sure that the price dropped? I just checked and it all looked the same to me!

According to Erica, (DisneyElf) We will be going around 8:30 pm to the some Fort Show and Cliff diving and be back around 11 pm. We will not get any food, but I think we get drinks. For those who are going, The early diners will eat at their time while the late diners will eat earlier at Topsiders, Room service, or even Palos, that night. You may want to contact Erica if you wish to go on tour since she is doing the arrangements.

Hello everybody. Is this the place that has taken over our old Disboard meeting place? I've missed you all so much. I hope you are all well and all our old gang is here. Been following the May Westbounders and loved every post. Can't wait to be there.

Tracy, great newsletter as always and thanks for getting messages and photos to us from Hygiene99.

I'll try to read the whole thread and catch up.

Love to all of you.
Pam

I hope I am but I'm going to go back and submit the reservations again to see what comes up this time.

Lisa I'm so glad you questioned my post I just did another check on the ressies, I sure did make a mistake. When asked my childs age I submitted 8 but then I rolled down the page with my mouse and I guess it changed her age back to an infant. I will edit that post.

I also have to e-mail Costco travel of my error.

Thanks

Okay, I cannot resist a bargain. Just booked 7 days at WDW, POP, with the FREE dining plan. We were going to DLH and San Diego in October, but will cancel that. We'll get off the ship, get a rental car, drive to SeaWorld, then POP. This will be our first trip to WDW, and I am trying to decide what to pack...on the ship I generally wear a swimsuit, cover-up, and flip flops. I don't think this would be appropriate at the parks...that means I have to bring daytime attire in addition to dinner clothes. Speaking of dinner...have the menus been posted yet ? Anyone else visiting WDW after the cruise ? Welcome to the newbies...

We'd love to join you Wide Awake. We could fly home together. Unfortunately we just went to Disney 6 months ago and I don't think hubby will take 3 weeks off. We plan to go in March. Last time we went to Sea World. The boys loved it. We only spent 5 hours there and felt like we saw the majority of the park. The sea lion show is very funny and they have a mime at the beginning of the show. He pretended to escort people to their seat and then lead them out the exit. He made the show!

I'll be sending you a pm later. We've been busy lately :)

Deb

Hi dairyou,
Thanks for the SeaWorld time estimate...that is about what I was thinking. That would have been great to fly home together...after our first DCL cruise we were with a couple other cruisers all the way home...and one of them threw an absolute tantrum because of the lousy airline service...I think they were still in the Magic mode !

QUOTE="Ginger"]I can't stand it, I'm getting so excited read about all the great activities aboard for the Repo cruise. I can hardly wait for our turn :Pinkbounc :bounce: .

The Rainforest is a must do on my list of activities, but I can't decided if I should sign up for both weeks or just pay as I go. On last years cruise I signed up for the week and didn't use it that much, no time. But it was only a week cruise, I'll have 2 whole weeks to use it this year :rotfl2:

Excursions: While in Acapulco we want to see the Cliff Divers show I was think of signing us up to do it with DCL the El Mercado & Cliff Divers Experience but I read that the buffet food was not good and DCL gave a 25% rebate to those who did.
Are there any "Fools" (LOL) here planning their own excursion to see the Cliff Divers show, if so would you mind a few tag alongs?

Got to go read some more.

****Please note this is my first post, I'll get the hang of it!*******
I was wondering the same thing, since we will be in Acapulco overnight, are there any evening excursions planned or must we do it on our own? Mary

Welcome Mary! The answer is that no one seems to know...the Cliff Divers excursion is being put together by one of our group, Disney Elf with help from a contact in Acapulco. There will be a bus to take you there and back, and includes two drinks and viewing of the show, I believe. Feel free to PM her, and be sure to sign up for the newsletter that WinoTracy puts together twice a month, it will get you up to speed in no time flat! Email her at twhipple@fastmail.fm. I am putting together a map that shows where all the DIS cruisers are from, and there's a small version of the maps on page 8. If you tell me how many are in your group, I can add you too! You will be our second group from AZ!

I guess I am completely out of the loop. I just read the newsletter and found out we had a home here again.
Welcome newbies!

We are going to take a chance and go on the ship's excursion to the cliff divers with the food. We can't go in the evening with the rest of you because I won't leave Kaleigh on the ship to do an excursion.

We are going on the DCL excursion for the cliff divers too! We are on the east coast and will have enough trouble with the time change without trying to get the kids to stay up until 11:00! I guess we will eat something on the ship before we leave since the lunch seemed to be sub-par.

Denine - which excursion are you going on? I can't remember the name of ours but it also has some shopping stops. My DD is 7 - how old is yours?

Denine and UMTerp:
What time is the DCL excursion for the cliff divers? I've booked the dolphin encounter but the only time we could get was the 1230-530. I wanted the morning dolphin encounter but I guess it was booked up by the REAS people? I thought if we did the dolphin in the morning we could still see the cliff divers in the afternoon. Maybe I'll try to switch it to the morning if the cliff diver excursion is mid afternoon. I'm thinking they might have some spots available for booking on the ship.
The boys really want to see the cliff divers and the evening plan would be too late for them. :guilty:

Hi Bill & Bill! If you are interested, we have a little newsletter that comes out twice a month loaded with lots of great information on excursions, merchandise, events, and just little articles of interest. If you are interested, send me an e-mail with your e-mail address and your DIS name and we'll get you hooked up. twhipple@fastmail.fm

Just a quick post to advise that I now have a stock of red, white and blue silicon wrist bands labelled Ship of Fools 2005 - they are in two sizes - adult and medium. I do have a small list of requests for some of these, but have a fair number extra - so will be happy to take more orders - cost is $3 each and I'll deliver on board.

Cheers

Allan :cool1:
