Has anyone brought lunch with them from the ship if they have booked a room at the Comfort suites to spend the day at Atlantis?

We are planning on taking our lunch with us to Atlantis on our cruise in Oct. I bought some juice boxes to take with me, some pringles so they won't get smashed and I will order some sandwiches from room service and take them with me. make sure to take a few ziplocks incase you want to pack something to take too. We ate lunch in January at "ATLAS" at Atlantis. It was $14.00 for a hamburger and fries.I had fish and chips $15.oo. I will bag it this time!!:D

We spent a day at Atlantis during our April 2002 Wonder cruise. We enjoyed a large breakfast at Parrot Cay that morning and on our way out of Parrot Cay we got some fruit, bagels etc. to bring with us to Atlantis. The fruit and bagels were a fast, easy snack to have poolside at Atlantis and worked out great.

We booked a room at Comfort Suites. It was fast and easy and saved us $$ over a room at Atlantis (that we would never go to anyway). When we were there in April there were staff members checking for wristbands at every entrance to the Atlantis pool areas.

We booked a room same day at Atlantis earlier this month. We took several things from the breakfast buffet for lunch (we brought ziplocks with us): ham, cheese, bread, cookies, fruit and we had several water bottles. We took a little break and went back to our room and had a super lunch! It was worth the effort! Have fun!

How much did you pay for comfort, I have on booked for late oct, but they charged me $250., it sounds a bit much..

Did you book room before you left on cruise, or did you walk up on the day you arrived in Nassau, how much, and what was included? I know it gives you pool, but did it also give you the digs tour, or was that seperate?

We just walked up that day. They gave us a "day room" (they asked us to check out by 6:00pm) for $150. We walked all over the property, went to the underground viewing areas, saw the various lagoons all before we had our Atlantis wristbands. Maybe we missed something but we never found what we thought was a formal "aquarium". I'm not even sure we saw The Dig. The signage and maps are very confusing so we just wandered. Our DD was not tall enough for the Mayan Temple slides so that bummed everyone. Then I got stung by a jellyfish at the beach and then it started raining so we ended up cutting our stay there and we were back on the ship by 3:00. It was a beautiful property and fun to see once but I would now say been there done that and stay on the ship.

We plan on doing next week what we did in January- order sandwiches from room service the night before, put them in baggies brought from home, and have a nice lunch. The sandwiches stayed cool enough in the room cooler.

$150 for a day room sounds like a ton of money. What is the day use fee for Atlantis, in comparison? Does everyone who uses the hotel option have a large party, or do you try to find other people on the cruise to split the cost of a room with you?

Cheers :)

we are new at the cruise. Atlantis? please help. and no fair LOL!! okay fine i will do it myself--LOL!!:p

Atlantis does not offer a day use fee. That's why some people choose to book a hotel room with access rights.

For the new people here on the board.
Okay, I have never been to Atlantis, but as I have really researched this as a possibility for our cruise, here goes...
As mentioned, The Atlantis does not offer a day-use. Anyone can stop by, but will have restricted access. The casino is open to all. 'The Dig' (aquariums) run around $25.00 to go thru.
( check out Atlantis.com )

Disney does offer two excursions to Atlantis.
1. Discover Atlantis - which includes The Dig $33.00 for ages 10 and up, $23.00 ages 3-9
2. Atlantis Beach Day - which also includes their beach and lunch at a lunch/snack bar $60.00 for ages 10 and up, $45.00 ages 3-9

Otherwise, the pools and slides and beaches are only open to guests of the Atlantis or the Comfort across the street. Limit is 4 guests per room. Guest are given a wristband.

So. Pricewise for a family of 4, the Atlantis Beach Day would run $210.00. For less money, it does make sense to get a room at the Comfort, have full access to Atlantis, and use the room to shower and change if you want. Also, you can return to the ship as late as you like.

The shore excursions take a water-taxi over to Paradise Island. If you go on your own, I think it is supposed to be easier and faster to take a taxi from the dock right to The Atlantis.

Hope this helps. And if I have anything wrong here, you guys correct me!

We just returned home from our cruise. We also asked for a day room. We paid 150.00 for a day rate with taxes it came to 187.00. This was cheaper than doing the beach excursion with 4 people. We really enjoyed having the use of the pools and slides. we did do a lot of walking as Atlantis is HUGE!!! We also packed a lunch and juice boxes. After we swam we went to our room and showered and ate our lunch. I will do a complete report on Atlantis with picture's as soon as I get my picture's uploaded on the computer.:D

I just got off the phone with the Comfort Suites and was told the rate is $175.00 a day even if you are not using the room. The woman also told me that there may be a problem as check in is not until 3:00 and there may be a problem getting my bands until then. Has anyone ever had this problem. Also we have 6 people in our party and we are going to have to reserve 2 rooms if we all want to go to the Atlantis. Any ideas?? Has anyone had more than 4 people go to Atlantis for the day?????

D and Ls Mom,
The lady who checked us in at Atlantis Friday told us we could have 5 people to a room, we only had 4. We originally had booked a room at Comfort suites for $175.00 before taxes. We were told that we would get our bands as soon as we checked in, even if room was not ready. We also knew if we had bad weather we would still have to pay for the room, as you have 48 hours within to cancel. We decided to call Atlantis and were told we could get a room day rate for $150.00 with taxes and everything else $183.00 or $187.00 can't remember wich. You cannot book for this price ahead of time. It is on a first come basis. The lady we spoke to told us she would wait and walk in if it was her as our chances were excellent on getting a day room. We cancelled our room at Comfort Suites and were glad we did. We had a wonderful time. The weather was hot and the water was cool. Towels are provided and you get your bands at the towel hut. People were checking for bands and we had to show our Atlantis room key just to go to the towel hut to get our bands.

Wow, that sounds great. I think we will forget booking the Comfort Suites and try the "Walk-in" at the Atlantis. I didnt even think about the chance that the weather would not cooperate as DS who is in the wheelchair would not enjoy himself if it was cool or rainy. Thanks for the great advice!!! I really appreciate
