Since WDW apparently lets you bring in almost any foods we are thinking about bringing in a bucket of chicken from KFC. Also we have a couple of whole pies. Will they let us bring in a plastic knife to cut the pies once we find a nice place in the MK to lay our blanket out?

Just how do you plan to keep the chicken from spoiling you wont be able to put it in a cooler? Coolers are a no no. Plastic knife is ok.

Just FYI, you won't be able to throw a blanket down and have a picnic inside the park. You can bring in food and sit on a bench or on the street curb and be discreet, but they do not want families having a full picnic with food from outside WDW (and you won't be able to use the tables at the counter service restaurants either). So keep that in mind...I was wondering how you would get the food and transport it over the park etc. without spoiling too.

If you are looking for a chicken bucket at a reasonable price, you could take the ferry over to Fort Wilderness and they sell a family chicken bucket meal at Trail's End. Or find something easier to bring like snacks and PB&J.

I was wondering when the can of corn was going to make an appearance?

My family is also planning to do this on our upcoming trip. Because we can't spread out a picnic blanket on the grass, our plan is to bring a small folding table and several chairs. We intend to "camp out" near the Walt statue so we have the perfect magical backdrop for our picnic. It's a little extra work, carrying the furniture around all day, so I think we'll rent one of those motorized scooter things and load it up.

I would *never* cut a good pie with a plastic knife! Preslice those pies my friend! What were you, raised in a barn?

I couldn't find the dimensions of the bucket (I'm assuming your are getting the 8 piece with 2 large sides) at the KFC website. Does anyone know if it will fit in one of the lockers so that you don't have to carry it around all day?

This may be probelmatic with 2 whole pies as well, so you might want to think about the Big Box Meal which might stack better with the pies.

I don't think that WDW Security will raise too many eyebrows about a small, plastic knife to cut the heavenly confections for your Magic Kingdom picnic, but to be safe, you could probably just use the spork that comes with the KFC meal to divvy up the pies.

Good luck and please let us know how it works out. I was hoping to bring in 2 large Dominos pizzas for my planned trip in 2025 and fold the boxes over a couple of times to stuff them into one of the lockers or under my seat as I go on some of the rides.

Don't forget the umbrella you know how bruttle the Florida sun can get. Are you bringing a set made out of wood or aluminum? I think aluminum would be lighter to haul around. :)

Pre-slice your pies as was suggested.

There are tables right of Main Street near the Castle. You can purchase drinks in the Bakery.

Oh dear. THank you for the laugh today. I really needed it.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Cold chicken? Yuck! Why don't you just bring allong a generator and a microwave? Then you can heat it up in the park.

This is the funniest thing I have read all day. The aluminum chair did me in :beach:

Who is bringing the two-liter of soda? You know that you can buy name brand for less than a soda anywhere on site!

I was thinking of bringing one of those 6' long subs into MK along with a cake to celebrate DD's birthday in October... and of course matches to light the candles ;)
