My DD was returning from her vacation today - BUT- she just called - they are stranded in Chicago - apparently a computer crashed (or?) at LAX - and she can't get a flight to LAX or to the west coast period. She's booked for 9am tomorrow.
She's never been to Chicago - so she's calling it an adventure. It sure will be - her luggage has to stay at the airport! Hopefully 6yr. old DGS & SIL will see it the same way!!

We just got a nice gift from DVC for our upcoming trip-- a blue striped DVC ;logo'd terry bag that opens into a beach blanket. Now where to pack it?

Yes!! Same here, on Saturday morningd...but don't have enough room to pack it counting down the days, and can't wait to meet everyone. If anyone is on the 120 Contential flight to BCn at 7 pm then we'll see ya there. Dong and I will be sporting our blue customized DCL shirts

A few times, I found when I tried to take one suitcase, I bought souvenirs etc and had to end up buying a duffle bag etc to carry the extras home. When I did the 11 day last year, I took 2 small suitcases that fit in each other and put all my shoes etc in it. Coming home I was able to check one bag that had the shoes and had the extra one for the extras that I bought. Probably will do the same thing again.

Started packing today - did most of mine, then my daughters (gismo), then had to go to my mums to pack her clothes for the care home she is going into so we can have this break without too much worry.

I am getting pretty sick of this packing lark !

Still have my husbands packing to re-do when he gets home from work Tuesday (left on his own he'll pack enough for a month, so we have to come to a compromise).
Was trying to stick to 2 suitcases, but think we'll end up with 3.

Don't finish work until Thursday, flying early Friday morning with BA from Gatwick, so not much time left and there's still so much to do !

I think I need a HOLIDAY

My dh packed his own bag when we went to England - he arrived without any underwear!!!!
I still don't pack for him though!! (but I do check w/out him noticing!)

DH and I are from Beaverton, Oregon. Leaving Portland on 8/16 Lufthansa at 1:20 PM in Frankfurt 8:30n Am a 4 hr layover trying to change that at gate. Arrive in Barcelona at 2:50 PM on 8/17. Have not finished packing and work

I am from the SF Bay area. I am on the 12:55 Flight from Frankfurt to Barcelona on the 18th. I thought of trying to change at the gate but our flight doesn't get to Frankfurt until 9:35 A.M. on the 18th

Don't ya just love the travel agents gift! More Stuff to pack.

My AAA Travel Agent dropped off a Mickey Mouse Club Beach towel and a California Adventure Album. The Beach towel won't go on this trip.

We are planning on taking one suitcase a piece plus a carry on!

My sister and her family have been in Europe all summer and are on the Disney 10 day Med now. Got an e-mail before they got on the cruise asking for some of our luggage space.

Happy Packing! 3 more days of work! 5 more days till we leave and 6 more till we are on the magic!

Hey we will be in room 7586 it would be cool to meet in person. Just took us going to BCN to do it. We booked with AAA did you or with disney? What are you all doing for formal night? DH does not have a tux.

I haven't found a formal that I could afford or liked or fit. However I do have a black cocktail dress that might serve for both formal and one semi formal night. I also found a formal top that goes with a pair of slacks. My Dad is wearing a Suit. We are meeting my sisters family and I doubt my DBIL will be doing the tux. My dad wouldn't even wear a tux to my sister's wedding. He did wear a Suit. I have never cruised Disney before so I don't know how dressed up people get. Royal Carribean and Carnival I saw people from Church Clothes to formal attire.

We are down below in 2042. Booked airfare with Disney. As far as a tux, this is my 10th Disney cruise and I've always just worn a black suit.

Formal night you can dress up as much as you would like - -but it is not nessary! Just a reg suit/dress works just fine or for the men a tux shirt with a dark jacket works great!!!

The idea is to have fun!!! and to enjoy the trip (we have done 4 Disney cruise and many others)

Fromal again does not have to be expensive!

Evening all, I an hardly believe we have 4 work days left, or I should say I have 4 work days left as DH is retired. This will probably be a tough week at work, but I am doing my best to not stress. I will clean off my desk and remove tings I do not want people to touch. I hate when people try to get involved and then botch it up.

Well I guess I will pack some of the meds in original bottles and some in an organizer. Thanks Chris.

It is late and Ihave a meeting in the a.m with the VP to pitch a proposal. Great timing as I will be gone for two weeks. Oh well, at least I will have planted a seed.

We get into Dublin at 5:10 a.m. local time and to Barcelona at 10:40 a.m.

I just added a second shore excursion in Gibraltar...I think we are FINALLY all ready now with our cruise plans. It's going to be a hectic week! The only think I really regret is leaving my kitties for two weeks. I am going to miss them sooo much!

Also - formal nite for me is going to be very low key - & since it's at the very beginning of the cruise - I would suggest forgetting room service & just join in. I noticed in my past cruise that some were in very formal attire while others were just a tad more dressy than usual!
Having Fun - that's the ticket!

Dee - yeah w/the 9/11 security I decided to just bring some of my "main" supplements in the bottles. (I could just see the scanners wondering about 15 plastic bags of pills! - I should share that w/Janet - think she'd share a laugh) Fortunately I don't take any prescription meds so I'm okay there!

Okay - I'm getting so excited!!!!!!!!!!

I can't believe it...we leave for the transatlantic repo cruise in exactly 7 days! I've managed to channel most of my anxiety about the transatlantic flight into excitement about the upcoming adventure. I resisted the temptation to downgrade to a cat. 12 guarantee, so hopefully being in my fav stateroom and enjoying the verandah on those 6 days at sea will ease the rantings of my inner-miser on the couple thousand bucks I could have had for the spa. I think it will be worth it as I relax out there and enjoy a good book, a snack, or just a nap...unless I end up with a chain cigar smoker next door (that would certainly be wicked irony!).

It's ironic...my grandparents all came to Ellis Island on transatlantic liners, and for them it was strictly transportation. They all died many, many years ago, but I wonder what they would think about their granddaughter taking the same cruise strictly for pleasure. Sort of ironc!

Oh I'm so jealous!
It was very tempting to book a cat 12 for this cruise- but the time the kids would miss school and the flights to Barcelona for all of us pretty much nixed any ideas of this cruise. If it had started a bit earlier and ended before school started- we probably would have done what I have said previously was the "unthinkable" for us at this point (ie: go just me and DH and leave the kids home.. with my sister babysitting them). But, she doesn't even live in our town so it's not like she could take the kids to school while we were gone. wahhhhhh The cat 12's were really cheap for such a long cruise!

I bet you'll enjoy your fav verandah on the trip. Hope you have a blast!

Our group of 10 is flying US Airways from Minneapolis to Philadelphia & then on to Barcelona. Anyone else? Anyone?.....

My suitcase is 2/3 packed & It's getting hard to sit in one place for too long! Can't wait to bring the Magic HOME!

The 4 of us are on that flight, if you are arriving a day early on 8/17. If you are arriving on 8/18, then we will already be there, trying to adjust to the time change from the west coast (I think it is 9 hours).
