My dh packed his own bag when we went to England - he arrived without any underwear!!!!
I still don't pack for him though!! (but I do check w/out him noticing!)

LOL yeah I think this is what Dad would do if Mum (gailadams_uk) didnt pack or just pack 27 t-shirts like normal. As it is I think he tried to pack 18 t-shirts last week and some had to be taken out. He seems to not understand travelling light at all.

DH does not have a tux and I do not have an formal gown. What are you all doing and what are my options? Since we have a verandah thinking of room service those nights.:confused3

Dads not got a tux he's just wearing his suit. We've got dresses but they aren't ball gowns or anything just really smart dresses.

If you do have a smart dress just wear that. Its only really the one formal night where you may have someone ask if youd be more comfortable eating at Topsiders. Semi Formal night as long as you look smart no one cares.

You do have the option of Topsiders Buffett or room service on verandah might also be nice.

Anyway hope this helps. I've never actually seen anyone thrown out of the resturant on formal night for turning up in normal clothes but have seen people asked to leave and they did because they said themselves they felt uncomfortable with so many people dressed up around them.

We just got off of the plane in Barcelona, and is is hot here also. Until we get our bearings around the city, we just jumped into a taxi. Today is a day of relaxation, and then let the fun begin. :cool1: :cool1:

Ken

Have a great time. Keep us posted

See you real soon

My pre cruise nightmares have begun.:rotfl2:

It was snowing in philly so I ran over to Newark (as if it was the next block over) and there was more snow there.

I also forgot to pack our formal wear/suitcase.

I quickly told me self not to stress as we have 2 weeks on the ship ans that the formal was not important we could eat else wear. Luckily my neice packed the suitcase and brought it. Not sure if we made it to the ship, but at least even in my dreams I am trying to relax:thumbsup2

I just had to share to see if anyone else is experiencing this (nightmares).

starting to get more excited. got the house all clean this weekend (hopefully the kids will help and keep it that way). now I just need to wrap a few things up with work, do some laundry and pack...the kids have packed, but i should probably double check their suitcases.

also received the great beach towel from DVC, but will not be packing it. I need as much space as possible, even though i hope to pack light. hoping to find some gifts on this trip. Also hoping that since DVC acknowledged our cruise that it will mean we will receive the special pins.

question about passports. when you are walking around the ports, do you need to bring them with you. Should we just carry copies?

time to get to work, the sooner i wrap things up, the sooner i can feel i'm on vacation.

BTW, weather predications in Barcelona for the end of the week look to be in the mid to upper 70's...sounds good to me, i was thinking it was going to be a lot warmer.

No nightmares yet--but I packed pretty much everything yesterday and my suitcases look very light. That worries me! What am I forgetting? (Chris, no not underwear :rotfl: )

I would kill for a nightmare. That would mean I'd actually slept sometime during the last two nights. My whole body is shaking from tired. I may sleep the entire cruise--deck 4, lawn chair...don't wake me. Please just wipe the drool from my chin. Thanks.:thumbsup2

We leave in 4 hours. Bet I'm asleep before the car pulls out of the drive way.

Ouch, you poor West Coasters! Here I was thinking 6 hours was bad from FL...for you, it's nearly half a day's difference! And even though the change back to U.S. time is gradual over the six sea days, y'all will still have a three hour different once we get back to FL. My sympathy is with you!

We were tempted by the day one Barcelona excursions but decided not to do anything till day two because I figure we will be rather dead to the world trying to sleep and readjust our body clocks once we get to the ship.

To everyone leaving today have a safe trip ......We leave in 70 hours , so the count down has begun ......Hope to see many of you Saturday at the ship or somewhere around Barcelona on Friday ...

Surprisingly, no nightmares here yet, and I seem to have made a reasonable measure of peace with the idea of the transatlantic flight...the anxiety is all turning into excitement! DH is panicky tho' and is obsessively watching for hurricane activity. His paranoia is that something will develop to shut down MCO so we can't get to Barcelona. I'm trying to reassure him that that's what trip insurance is for...we've never taken it before, but we did for this one because there is so much more that can go wrong with three flight legs and a foreign country.

Now you are really making me panic -

Felt like I had more time to sort everything out when I thought of the time in days.

We're staying at the Grand Marina hotel Friday night, so might see you there.

Hope the weather is a bit kinder to us travelling Westward than it was in May coming Eastward. Anyone know what the weather forcast is over the Atlantic?

Back to :laundy: now.
