Ok I guess I'd better come online and introduce myself - I am Laura AKA eeyorelvr10 and as of 5 pm PST today, I am officially on this cruise. I'm in that big cat 12 room that a lot of people seem to have.

Now, I have to step out for a while but I'm assuming that if I go to page 1 I can find someone to pm my info too? Or else some of you wonderful people will point me in the right direction. Thank you and am looking forward to sailing with you all.

Anything of importance I should know about?

I was able to confirm our tentative DCL flight schedule and it looks lije we'll be flying on Delta 94 JFK - Barcelona leaving at 5:40pm on 8/17? We'll have a bit of a layover Friday afternoon at JFK our flight from DC arrives just before noon.

Dis you book your Air with the Air/Sea Package?

I was told I wouldn't know until July.

I was just curious because I know disney uses Delta allot. I am Flying out of SFO and will probably connect somewhere in the US. But don't know yet

When I went to Italy in the 90's I flew out of SFO on delta to JFK and 95% of the passengers were flying to JFK to connect to Europe Somewhere. There were allot of passengers on the flight from SFO that were going to connect in Barcelona,

Yes we booked the Sea/Air through DCL. I've never used DCL for air as I've always found a better price elsewhere and booked myself. But for this trip I never did find a major carrier with a competitive price DCL was $860pp. incl transfers and taxes which I had placed on my original booking so we kept it.
I was quite concerned, control freak that I am, I really needed to know the times to feel comfortable. I was able to get our flight info from Delta; a friend had said Delta was the only Redeye to Barcelona so I called through the Skymiles number explained I didn't have the booking code but wanted to make sure my skymiles number was on the reservation; they gave me the booking number and I was able to pull up the reservation online. Our fist leg from DCA to JFK isn't locked yet but the JFK to BCN was. I am not able to change seats etc yet but knowing the tenative plan helps me feel better.

yes disney had great prices for the air for the med. my next cruise the 15 night repo cruise in aug 2008 they wanted some outrageous price. i will just buy that on my own.

Disney quoted us some ridiculous price for air, and I said forget it. I booked Delta from Denver to Atlanta to Barcelona for $790 including taxes. Transfers were a non-issue since we are arriving 4 days early, and Disney wanted something equally outrageous to modify the itinerary and book a hotel for us. We handled all that on our own.

Hi Chris (Grandma#3) Hope your Vegas weekend went well. Anyway, please if you can add 1 more to brunch??? See I am making the trip also!

For those of you who don't know me, I am doing the July 28 Med Cruise with my family and then flying to Paris for 1 week. Well, a friend signed me up and talked me (twisted my arm so hard she almost broke it ) into doing this. We were supposed to leave France on the 15th and my family is but I've got to get myself to Barcelona somehow and hopefully meet up with my friends and any others. So as I will have stayed there prior to the cruise - am really looking forward to just having a few quiet days to myself for rest and leisure exploration.

I am traveling solo but have many friends traveling some of which don't realize I signed on. Don't know if that is a good thing or not. LOL

Anyway, that's my story and if anyone wants to ask me any questions, feel free.

We have decided to go with you guys... we can't believe that we are doing this. We are in a cat 12 gty.
Let me introduce ourselves, I am Christie and my DH Ken will be going with me. If it would be possible I would like to join in on the brunch with the girls.
We are soooooooo looking forward to this cruise. This will be our sixth DCL trip and since we didn't do the east bound repo.... we just said OK lets see if I can twist any arms of friends that might join us!!! Yea Laura, I AM talking about you!!
We are leaving around the 15th, but haven't decided what stops we might make before arriving in Barcelona.
We are excited about meeting all of our new friends from DISboards!, and all of our past cruise friends!!

Anyway, Chris - the lady organizing the brunch I think is really cool but off this weekend. She'll be back on Sunday night. I am on my way to the other thread but will be bouncing back and forth.

Hi, We're on this same flight. We arrive from Phoenix on Fri. morning at 5AM(yes, that means 2 nights on a plane, ugh! ) So we are thinking of doing a 1/2 day tour of Manhattan to kill some time .

Hi Mary;

While I'd love for you to spend time in Manhattan, I will warn you that if you get in just before noon and you have to leave on an international flight before 6 PM, you will have a hard time getting much done . . . if you take the Skytrain/subway into the city, it will take a minimum of one hour each way, and you will need to be back to the airport 2 1/2 to 3 hours before your international flight. I know that a big layover is annoying, but I'd be nervous trying to get into the city and back in that amount of time.

Good Morning!!

Well I think I have finished booking my excursions and such. There are a couple I may change before sailing. This is what I have booked so far.
Barcelona -
Discover Barcelona and Spanish Village
- I may cancel that and just go with Hop on Hop off Bus

Gibraltar -
Rock Tour - Morning
- I wanted the walking tour but it was totally booked for the morning
Panoramic Gibraltar and Afternoon Tea - Just me, Hannah is not interested.

Cadiz
City Walking Tour
I may cancel and just go with the Hop on Hop off bus and explore on our own

Tenerife
Mercedes Forest and Taganana

I also booked an Alone Time Spa Treatment for one of the Sea Days.

What is everyone considering for possible sea sickness? Prescription for the patch or just OTC bonine ? I will be getting something because the only time I have ever been sea sick was on a Celebrity cruise to Bermuda from Baltimore during sea day in the Atlantic. That was not fun!!

i'm bringing the patch--i've used i before and i did get some blurry vision but may better than being sick!
