Hi Everyone:

I am new to Disney Cruising but not Cruising been on Carnival and Royal Carribean. Even been caught in a hurricane and had to go out to Sea for an extra day!

My Dad and I will be joining my sister and her family.

Fairy Godmother I had to laugh when you said your DH watches movie after movie. My father too! It is either Movies or ESPN!

Thanks to all of those that posted about the trip over. It gives me an idea on what excursions to book.

I was in Barcelona ten years ago on a Land Tour with Trafalgar and the two days we were in Barcelona it poured down rain and they cancelled the Montserat Tour. Plus it was a Monday and we couldn't even go to the Picasso Meuseum but we did travel around in a local trolley bus and found some Guadi. So looking forward to finally getting to go back.

Hi Everyone!

It's really fun to have more joining in Dis & the cruise!!

party: WELCOME party:

I'm packing - tomorrow my son-in-law graduates college & we're off to Las Vegas to celebrate - he's a Monty Python fan so we'll be seeing "Spamalot"

I must confess - I'm a "dis-addict" - I'm bringing my laptop!

Thanks so much for all the info on tours - it is really helpful.

It is almost JUNE - our cruise is getting that much closer - and I still have so much to do. I'll start another list. I find that comforting!!

Cheers!

Does anyone know if this group is doing any type of arm bands? On our last cruise we all ordered these lime green wrist bands and got them after the sail away party. During the cruise it was easy to spot our fellow disers:thumbsup2

I don't know as I haven't read anything on here. On the EB one we had lanyards which were cool and really easy to recognise around the boat

Hi all Ive read a little about getting some of our kids linked through email before the cruise and was wondering how many others may like to do this. My kids are DD8 DS13 and DD 16 (almost 17) and on our panama repo they each had a chance to chat a little with other kids before they left which made it very exciting to get on board already feeling like they knew someone. If anyone else is interested I would be happy to help get something rolling. For safety sake I always had my kids use my PM here on the disboard so I could keep an eye on what was going on.:rolleyes1

Also we did an inexpensive gift exchange before the last trip and was curious if anyone wanted to do that this time? It was so fun to recieive little token gifts from another cruiser of items they felt would be fun, helpful or neat to send to a fellow disboarder. Again, I could help arrange this if there is enough interest.

Thanks and looking forward to our trip:cool1:

are you sure the fountains start at 9:30? i was looking at the barcelona fountains website and it said starting at 8:00pm. http://www.bcn.es/fonts/
Nope, not sure at all. I got my info from the eastbound cruisers. I will dbl check next time. Thanks

please don't forget to share your opinions on excursions with us. thanks, ellen

Yes please share, I am very eager to find ot. I do feel a little more comfortable with Gibralter. Correct me if I am wrong, but if we walk into the town we will have better chance of getting a cab. Is this what I understand.

OK so this is a complete spoiler and if you dont want to read it dont hightlight the next section as I have put the colour as white so you'll need to highlight from the arrow to the second arrow

->You get a private photo and autograph session with around 7 of the disney characters as well as mickey rice crispy treats - hence its fab for kids<-

I loved this new technique. Not to mention the message.

WOHOW just tried this and it worked! How cool is that!

Fairy Godmother I had to laugh when you said your DH watches movie after movie. My father too! It is either Movies or ESPN!

My lovely DH does love Disney and their movies. He is not a huge sports fan though. Rest assured he will also be seen in the movie theatre.

As for the band and/or lanyards. Any and all planning for those has gone with the wind. When we lost so many fellow posters this thread mourned and seemed to loose is luster. I, for one and grateful so many of you new folks have joined in. I know I said this before, but yopu have helped bring some life to this thread. With that said, anything anyone wants to plan would be great. I would love to help. We had arm bands on my last dbl dip cruise and I check into the price and how that was done if there is an interest.

Hi everyone -- my three daughters (15, 12, and 10 at the time of the cruise) and I were booked on the Aug. 8 Med from the time it went on sale, but today switched to BOTH the July 28 Med cruise and this transatlantic one for the same price! It was too good to pass up. We booked cat 12 GTY, but I see online that we already have a cat. 10 room. I am very much looking forward to this cruise and all those sea days (and already feel I know some of you from the 2008 PC repo thread).

I'm way behind here, but glad you'll be joining us Julie....There goes our scavenger hunt for hidden messages though...oh well...much better to have you in person instead of just a note

Whew....all caught up. Sorry I've been MIA but I've had a lot going on. I think it's all settled down now, so I can get back to planning.

Chris, count me in for a ladies get together. I'm already doing a brunch with another group so I'm not sure if I'm allowed to do more than 1 Palo brunch. But a tea would be nice. I was going to book a solo one anyway since it will just be me and my son cruising. His last day of school is June 13. I plan on telling him about the trip then as a end of 6th grade present.

Since this is my first DCL (been on other lines before) I don't get to book an excursions until this weekend. I think I've got things narrowed down though:

Barcelona - visit the Chocolate Museum on my own (may rethink this after the previous review posted), visit the fountains on my own, bike tour Sunday morning with another group

Gibraltar - tour the Rock with a group, and doing the Panoramic Gibraltar and Afternoon Tea with DCL

Cadiz - Bee & Honey Museum w/DCL, possibly the Flamenco in Puerto de Santa Maria w/DCL

Tenerife - this is where I'm totally undecided, maybe the Catamaran or the Jeep w/DCL or the Tenerife Wine Experience w/DCL. I'm going to do some more research and see if I can come up with anything to do on my own here

Castaway Cay - think we'll go with the Extreme Getaway package so we can get floats, snorkel, bike and see the stingrays. May also try to get a Cabana massage for myself.

Hello Everyone! We will be joining you all on this fabulous Transatlantic Repo!! It will be me - Henrietta (42) and my eldest DD- Hannah (11). I have been thinking about this cruise since it was announced and even went so far as booking it once. I just wasn't sure if I could make it work -DH's schedule, childcare for my younger two and Hannah missing the first few days of school.

After, following the live thread from the EB Repo and the amazing price for the Cat. 12 GTY, I just had to look into it again. All the pieces fell into place. :yay: My mom will come out from MD to help DH with the girls while we are gone, I found and booked great Airfare out of Chicago and a return to Milwaukee (We are equal distance from both) and I stopped at DD's school to see what needed to be done to excuse her those first few days of school. I then transferred our 2008 booking deposit which totally covered the price of this cruise.

So we are all set and I am just thrilled. From reading the thread it looks like there may be quite a few girls my DD age. I am looking forward to hearing more from the posters who were on the EB Repo and getting to know the Disers on this thread. :goodvibes

Hi Karen and Sue
I'm a solo cruiser too (but with my DS15 and DD13) and we're also Brits. I would love to eat at Palo, but haven't made a reservation as I'm on my own. Have looked at the DCL site and there's nothing available for Brunch, High Tea, or dinner on 28th - only port days.
Joan
Hi Joan, not only a solo (sort of )cruiser, but a Brit too!looking forward to meeting you.
:coffee: OK lets plan to book brunch for a sea day (if poss) as soon as we board,& in the mean time, would you consider brunch on a port day?& if so which one?KAREN ARE YOU OUT THERE, IS A PORT DAY BRUNCH OK FOR YOU??????(it is for me!):dance3:
I can book on Tues.
Sue

I am really excited about this voyage. We go to WDW next week and I am having trouble focusing on my plans for that trip. LOL
