That's great Janet !

I just thought of something - at DLP - most of our cellphones won't work - so - we should set up a meeting time - for the fools.

Maybe - 1:00 - everyday - in front of the castle ?

This will depend on your cellphone. Most the the mobiles (cellphones) sold here in the UK now work pretty much worldwide. One thing though is the calls will be expensive, for both the caller and the person receiving the call if they're both on cellphones, so we try and uses text messages instead.

I read a few threads on cruisecritic about using cell phones in Europe. There are a few companies here that carry phones and/or chips (that's not the correct name but I can't think of it right now  ) that can be used in Europe, but not here.

As so as I find the threads, I'll post a link.

The shopping has begun here as well.

DH worried about the liquor we'll be brining home in Oct and Dec has purchased hard sided luggage at Costco. It is surprisingly light and I'll be taking it over for the repo.

Janet congrats on Paris :thumbsup2 I just can't swing the vacation time even with a boss who has an apartment in city.

On the homefront, DS is trying to figure out if he wants to start CIA (the cooking school) in the spring or wait till post cruise. Once he starts he only gets three weeks off in the summer and a week between Christmas and New Years so the cruise would be out.

Keep us posted on who is coming with you Dee ?

Too bad you can't just tell your boss - all my friends are getting the time off :goodvibes

The taxes for the cruise have been reduced - check with DCL or your TA to make sure it has been adjusted.

Even though it's hard sided make sure you pack it really well. We have hard sided luggage and you can see where it's been beat up and we've only flown with it a couple of times. Plus we just got back from the 11 night and packed liquor in one of them. We even had the airline put fragile stickers on it and it made no difference. We watched from the plane as the threw that suitcase onto the plane like there was no fragile sticker. One bottle was broken and the airline won't do anything about it.

Another tip, wrap them all in individual bags, like the ones from the shops. It saved us from having tequila on everything in the suitcase, that and the cardboard box it came in absorbed some of the liquid.

Yikes -- that would make me upset - watching my bag going flying - even with a fragile sticker :furious:

Okay - I spoke to Sandie at All Seas - the tax credit is $ 44.74 pp - if you are paid in full - DCL can't raise the taxes back up on you :goodvibes

YEAH!! We received our price adjustment (we are not paid in full yet) of $89.48. Gotta love when that happens! :cool1: :thumbsup2  :cheer2:

Thanks for the info on the tax credit. I was wondering why the price had gone down. It isn't showing up on the DCL site, so I gues I will be calling them.

I do have a question though. Has anyone heard lately what the incentives are booking on board lately? We are going in Dec and I was wondering if the tips are still included for the Repo and what the stateroom discount is. TIA

When we rebooked onboard in August, we got the 10% discount, $250 stateroom credit, and the tips were included. Not a bad deal. I figured it saved us about $1100. More money to buy things!!!

Thanks for the tips. DH would be majorly upset if some of his precious Bailey's was lost. :teeth:

I am cruising next week and planning to rebook this puppy on board to save some money. I'll let you know what they are offering. Who knows if it's not selling they may sweeten the pot yet again. ;)

Please, post! We cruise on the 22nd and we cancelled this cruise but I have thought about rebooking while onboard. Things sound better than when we booked originally. Price is down, 10% discount for onboard booking, $250 onboard credit and a possibility of tips being included! Tips were definately NOT included on the last Repo cruise. Plus, I could collect my own commission now!:thumbsup2

That would be great if you re-book .... all those incentives are nice.

OKAY - NOW I AM IN TOTAL SHOCK

I actually got a response from Eurorail ...

T-4 - will be $ 137 PP

T-2 - will be $ 202 PP -

They did warn rates are not out yet and subject to change ....

Even more info.

Erica,
Well we would not book anything if a child does not occupy their own bed, I would assume then that such a charge would be paid locally. As for 3 people occupying a T4, that can be done but you would have to pay for the additional Berth or it could be occupied by a stranger. Though even if you pay for all 4 berths, but on the day of travel the conductor sees there is only 3 people in the compartment, he could still try and sell the empty berth to someone last minute, regardless of the fact that you already paid for that berth. The best answer I could give is that by paying for the 4th berth you at least have a chance at getting exclusivity for that compartment.

Respectfully Yours,

David Breuer

Though with our mouths I doubt they would get another person in there :rotfl2:

Anyway - I need to get a count of who is doing this and what compartments.

Need 20 people - min. -- so we get an option of T-2 and T-4

Hi all!

I haven't posted much in a while -- we had a death in the family and then more recently, my DH's dream of starting his own company appears to finally going to become a reality. And sooner than we thought.

Good news for DH....bad news for us on the Med. 2007 repo. Sorry to say, we're not going to be sailing with you. :sad1:

But, that repo deposit has already been put to good use and we've booked a verrrry last minute 12/09/06 cruise -- one of the double dip Castaway Cay trips! Figured we'd better get one last family vacation in before we don't have time to go/can't afford to go any more.

It was great chatting with you all -- I know you're going to have a wonderful time! You can be sure I'll be green with envy come next August and looking for "Live from the August Med. repo....." reports!

Best,
Charlotte
