Keep us posted on who is coming with you Dee ?

Too bad you can't just tell your boss - all my friends are getting the time off :goodvibes

The taxes for the cruise have been reduced - check with DCL or your TA to make sure it has been adjusted.

With this family, I'll be lucky if I know at the 75 day mark who exactly will be coming along.

:rotfl2: That must make planning difficult - Dee

Moira - sorry I didn't add you sooner - but you are on page 1 now. Just have to find the time to add up - how many people are in our group.

Did more shopping for my horde of stuff for the cruise. Picked up a universal adapter - for the camcorder & laptop. Just have to check Benita's battery charger -- not sure if that one does the flip.

For those that don't know about foreign voltage - it runs on a different frequency & cycle then US products. The majority of camcorders & laptop adapters will flip on their own - once you get them plugged in. The way to verify that your electronic device flips on it's own - turn it over - and read the small print - it will state - 110 v to 220 v and then 50/60 mhz (or cycles). If that is not on the bottom - go to an electronics store and purchase a transformer. For battery charging items - the 50 volt one is fine (too many years working p/t at Radio Shack).

Hopefully this information isn't too redundent.

We rebooked onboard in August to take advantage of the discounts and upgrade to CAt 4. I had intended to transfer the ressie to our TA as our original had been but that step got lost in the bustle of getting home the day before the school year started and the fall frenzy. When I saw the price drop on DCL I called and asked for adjustment and was told since my existing discounts made overall costs lower no adjustment would be applied. For those of you who have experience with this does the price adjustment only apply to overall costs which includes the airfare or if the base cruise fare drops should I be able to get that adjustment?

Just the three of us, Erica!

Thank you!

We rebooked on board in August also so we could get the discounts. Whoever you talked to at DCL was incorrect. The price in the taxes dropped, not the acutual cost of the cruise. You are definately intitled to the price adjustment. I received my discount of $89.48 (for 2 people.) when I called last week. I would call again, and if you have to, ask for a supervisor. Good luck.

Coming up for air (yeah, it's been a while!) to add -- even if your appliance(s) flips on its (their) own, you still need a plug adapter. The prongs in many European countries are different than our prongs. The good news is that plug adapters are cheap compared to voltage transformers...

Yup - my adapter was only $10. and does all the countries.

Thanks for the clarification DisCrazzy; I called back specifically stating the "adjustment due to reduction in tax 'and they made the adjustment. Every bit of savings helps.

Well, I've priced out flights from New York to Paris the weekend before the cruise leaves Barcelona. The best fare that comes up is Air India, direct from Newark, NJ to Paris, France for a total of $941 for two. The flight leaves at 9:05 pm and gets to Paris the next morning at 10 am. We plan on staying at Disneyland Paris 4 nights and seeing Paris and the Disney parks; then probably taking the train Friday night down to Barcelona.
Is this a good fare, and can we trust the airline? In actuality, we have to fly out of Richmond, VA at 5 pm on Continental to get to Newark in time for the Air India flight, but that only raises the fare to $1085 total. I also checked out round trip fares, but there wasn't any advantage to choosing that option.
Is it wise to make these reservations prior to the cruise being paid in full? Is flight cancellation insurance a good idea?

Have you tried pricing out of www.flycheapaboard.com --

Val used them - with success - and I'm going to be picking up our airfare for the 3 of us. We decided for the direct flight to Paris too -- around the same price - but I believe they are using Delta/Airfrance. If you go to their site- the flight times match up with the offers from flycheap.

Should I put you down for the train ? A T-2 - Compartment for 2 of you - $ 202 pp is the rough price.

Can't believe we are getting close. I am thinking of trying to find out how much a private shuttle from DLP to the Paris for the train would be. Think it might be easier than group travel on the train .

I used www.cheaptickets.com to get the Air India fare of $940 for the two of us. I checked www.flycheapabroad.com and got the exact same fare and airline. This is also non-stop, and so is the shortest time-wise.
Yes, please put us down for a T-2 berth on the train to Barcelona. Are there any luggage restrictions for the train to Barcelona? I like the idea of a private shuttle on that Friday; anything to help the luggage situaton!
Also, please add us to your list of cruisers on the first page: JamesD & LindaD, 2 adults, Cat. 9 cabin, late seating. We have the exact same cabin reserved we had for the Panama Canal eastbound repositioning cruise!

It looks like we have enough people doing the train - to book the T-2's & T-4's at the group rate :thumbsup2

On to more planning - will contact Eurorail - and see what kind of deposit we will need - and if we can add more people later.

Hello everyone. I have been in Vegas and when I returned there sat the "Wonder." I am very ready for my upcoming cruise and really looking forward to two weeks on the Magic.

Hope everyone is doing well and getting ready for the up coming holidays. I cannot beleive there is already Christmas decorations out and we have not even gotten to Halloween.

Will check in later. I think I am going to pack this weekend so I can purge the unecessary before we go. This weight limit on airplanes has gotten rediculious. It cost me 25.00 each way for being 3 and 6 pounds over the 50 allowed. I am gonna start taking two suitcases from now on.
