If there are trays, then maybe the domes aren't really necessary.
Unless you are in concierge, room service breakfast is limited to a continental breakfast....cereal, pastries and breads, fruit juices.
we call room service and just let them know that we have left dishes in the hallway.
That's a great idea. I never thought to call them and let them know there are dishes outside the stateroom.
When were you last on the Magic? We were just on her in May, and there were no trays in Cabanas. Just large plates. On the Magic there have always been trays in Cabanas. DH generally goes up every morning and grabs some cereals, pastries, and milk and juice to bring back to the
If you're talking about Cabanas, trays are sitting out, most people put their plate on a tray and slide that along the buffet line. So it's easy to fill your tray and then walk to your room instead of to a table. The dome you'll probably have to ask for, I haven't seen those sitting out but I would guess they are available.
The trays have gone away. Just like most other cruise lines. The thought is that it actually cuts down on the food waste, if you have to carry multiple plates instead of stacking them on a tray.I've totally missed trays in Cabanas. I don't remember ever seeing them, and I don't remember seeing anyone else using one. I've only ever seen plates and bowls sitting out.
We have DCL #2 in just a few days! We cruised last year when our daughter was 1 y/o and we missed every breakfast and a few dinners due to her sleep/nap schedule and other things.
1. I've read we can bring food from Cabanas back to our room for breakfast. Is this discouraged by the crew? Do I need to bring some type of tupperware to transport the food?
2. I'm worried our daughter will be sleeping during our dinner time. If my husband goes to dinner, can he bring my dinner back with him?
Any other suggestions are appreciated![]()

Well, that's changed, also. No "meal-type" foods are allowed in the Walt Disney Theater now. Only snack foods. As of June the Wonder still had trays in Beach Blanket but I bet they will be gone after dry dock when Beach Blanket transitions to Cabanas. Its a bummer b/c twice we used the trays to bring our breakfast to the Walt Disney theater for a matinee show/presentation.
As others have said you can certainly bring food back to your room. However, have you considered changing your dinner seating? Or you can plan nursery time for her during dinner and she can sleep there. It just seems a shame to miss so many meals together and miss out on the MDRs.
Enjoy your cruise!

No trays. What about the Fantasy? Trays or no trays? I stress over the smallest things! lol!
No trays.
I'm pretty sure you can ask for one of those. They aren't just out for you to take.Ah well. I had hope for a minute. Okay, what about plate cloches? (those flat or dome plate covers... yes, I watch food network way too much!)
