As an expat I go nuts loading up on food supplies whenever I am back "home". I buy everything from spices, jars of salsa, cake mixes, cheetos, candy, chocolates, jars or italien peppers etc...

Unfortunatley we can only do our shopping before our cruise this time as once we disembark we are heading straight to MIA.
Will Disney have an issue be brining a suitcase full of non-perishable SEALED food items?? I know customs normally wont have an issue if it's non-perishable.
thanks!

I have multiple food allergies and have always brought food items on board -- commercially packaged, factory sealed, unopened. DCL has never had an issue.

The issue has always been with US Customs coming back. I fully declare everything, anything I bring back is still sealed, and I have a written itemized list I give to the Customs officer of every food item and its quantity (and that includes things like gum and candy you may have elsewhere in your things). I usually end up having to speak with the Agriculture officer, which adds all of a minute or two to the time to clear Customs, and I have always been cleared.

THe US CBP website has good guidance documents about importing food into the US and what is and is not allowed. One tip I was given by a US CBP officer was to make sure I keep the receipts and bring them with me so that I can show the products were purchased in the US before the cruise and are coming back with me into the US, as that may make a difference in how a given item is treated. I have never actually had to show the receipts, but I am also careful to only have items where there should not be any concern with importation.

YMMV.

Yeah I’m well rehearsed generally on what one can bring in. Perishables, meats, fruits/ veggies big no. But that’s a great tip in the receipts. As I also tend to buy more other stuff. Definently will do that.
