Hi, I was just wondering what outside food is allowed in the parks. If one were to bring a backpack in. I saw on the Budget board that anyone can bring snacks and things like bottled water to the Disney Parks and would like to know if this is allowed at Universal?

Thanks in advance!

We didn't bring food in, but I was wishing we had. The food was so expensive, and it was okay, nothing special for the most part. We didn't bring in water bottles, but we asked for ice water at many places throughout the parks and were never given a hard time about it. I would definitely bring in snacks that would hold up well in the backpack and in the heat.

Just this weekend I brought in every day in my purse a granola bar, small box of raisins, and cheese and cracker packets. I carried bottled water.

I saw several people with strollers that had small zipper coolers. I don't know what they had but snacks and water are definitly allowed.

I also didn't think USO/IOA had a great selection of snacks.

The snack carts I saw were: Churros, Big soft pretzels, water and cokes, lemon slushies, popcorn, cotton candy, and a few ice cream stands. WDW has a better variety of snacks.

Add fruit to that list of snacks in the park.

Thanks so much for the quick resonses!

Here in GA at parks like Six Flags and White Water, no outside food and drink are allowed. It is a pain in the behind to travel out to your car to eat snacks. Especially now that Six Flags got rid of their tram!

Now I can stock up for our next trip :Pinkbounc

the official policy of USO/IOA is no outside food or drink but I can assure you it isn't enforced. There is sign at the entrance stating no food or drink.

I cant count how many times I've "smuggled" or seen "smuggled" items appear in the parks. It doesnt bother me, and I say nothing, for I have been a "smuggler" as well. :p

I'm telling.

There are many fresh fruit stands throughout IOA and USF where you can buy apples, oranges, cut fruit and grapes. There are also smoked turkey legs as well as those mentioned by other posters.
