Just watched all the episodes and tried the pot roast. Now it is cooking in the crockpot and it smells amazing. In 6 hours it should be done.

Did you try one of the recipe ?

So the pot roast was really good. I will keep the recipe. But if you do it in the crockpot like I did , you should put 4 cups of broth and not 6 . The gravy was too thin.

I tried the Fried Brie which Pete and company did on a show at AKV. It was amazing! I think they’re better than mozzarella sticks.

So did not have any brie left, so decided to try the pumpkin pie . Here is the result. I replaced the pumpkin by a butternut squash puree.

It smells really good and it was easy to make. I also made some banana muffins. They are easy to make with old bananas.
Here is the recipe

2 1/2 cups of flour
1 cup of sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup of butter
1 table spoon of baking powder
a pinch of salt
5 bananas

Mix the butter, the sugar and the eggs in one bowl.
Mix in an another bowl the flour, the salt and the baking powder.
Then mix the flour with the butter batter, alternating with the bananas puree.

Put the batter in your muffin tin and bake at 350F for 45 minutes. It makes 12 big muffins.

I tried the fried brie and didn't like it much. I love brie, but it just didn't work for me. I did use plain breadcrumbs because that's what I already had, but I think my opinion would be the same if I had used Italian breadcrumbs.

So pumpkin pie was a first for us. One of my sons did not like it, the rest of the family did so. I do not know if the texture I got is the one I should though.

Here is a really simple recipe. Tarte fine à la poire
- your favorite pastry
- 2 pounds of pears
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 table spoon flower

Put baking paper on a baking pan. Cover all the space with your pastry .
Cut the pears in thin slice. Mix the pears with the sugar and flower . Put all the pears on the pastry and cook at 375F for 40 minutes . Enjoy.

So I did the cheddar soup. It is delicious , but it is not for you if you are on a low salt diet.
I replaced the red onion by leek. Everyone loved it. One bowl is enough for a meal.

I think it is wise to buy good cheddar and good bacon, they are the stars of this soup after all.

Did the sweet potato casserole yesterday. Well, it is good, everybody liked it, but it's so sweet!!! It is more a dessert for us than a side dish.
