Bringing a stroller vs renting one at Disneyland

So, I can`t decide wether to buy a stoller (74 euro) or to take a chance and rent one in Disneyland and hope everything goes okey with paying and getting back the deposit we have to pay if we want to take it between the two parks.

Can somebody tell me if the deposit (150 euro) is for ONE day or for the period we want to hire the stroller, lets say 5 days?
When will we get back the deposit? And how do they know its not broken, or something if it gets stolen from us while we`re there? Does this go automatic, or do you have to talk to them to get your deposit back?

Do they always have strollers available?

my brother in law never paid a deposit..is that a new thing?

I think the 150€ deposit is only if you want to take the stroller out of the park (ie. back to your hotel or something like that). If you are just using it in the park you shouldn't have to pay that much!

You pay a deposit only if you want to keep the stroller 24/7 - take it out of the parks, rather than handing it back in at DLRP and rehiring at WDS or want it for the evening, take back to the hotel, etc.
When we asked about it in 2006, we got the impression that on top of the deposit you also paid the daily rental rate. We had a bit of a language problem and couldn't get all our questions answered because of it and added to which there was another lady having terrible trouble trying to get her deposit back, but I did think that was because she'd initially rented it from the WDS not DLRP park where she was trying to exchange it back. We opted for daily hire.

My opinion based on our experiences of missing/stolen strollers would be take your own, especially if you're planning on using the shuttle buses, I can't imagine trying to get one of the Disney strollers onto a bus at a busy time, at least your own would fold up so you can carry it on.

I've never heard anyone report not being able to hire a stroller.

Hope this helps,
Jill :)

we have always taken our own for pure ease and convenience. Perhaps when our little one gets bigger we may look at the hire option but it's quite useful having her pushchair for storage, etc. When we stayed at the HC last month there were several buggies left in the hotel lobby area ... not sure who they belonged to but from what we saw random people were using them on an evening to try and get their little ones asleep in. I think the hire strollers look great but our dd likes to sleep in hers and as they don't recline I thought she wouldn't be that comfortable and they only have a small hood which doesn't look like it would do a lot in a shower.
