Going on first DCL Cruise, Looking for info on bringing your own beer, bottle water, soda from home. Is this possible?? My travel agent said they have never have heard of this. Was reading the Passpoter travel book said it was ok.. Could be a cost saver... Thanks 15 days left 4 us, Time to pack the bags............

Yes you can! We took 4 bottles of wine last time and saw people with 12 packs of soda. We'll do the wine again and also some beer for my husband. The man checking our carry ons didn't say a thing!

So, if you are bringing your own, should you put it in your carry on or can it be in with your other luggage?

Thanks - I have 6 days to go, yikes

Bring it in your carry-on. That is the one thing Disney requests. They do not mind if you bring it on, (BTW- they are the only cruise line that allows this) but they do not want it in checked luggage. We also took wine aboard and will again next time, but there were plenty of people bringing soda and water.
Have a great cruise.:sunny:

Yes, you can carry it on in a soft sided cooler as long as it will fit through the screening equipment. Most people pack the soft sided cooler in a suitcase and then bring their drinks in a small rolling suitcase. We just had our bottles of wine wrapped up in clothes and in our soft day bag.

On our last 2 cruises, I actually packed a duffel bag with my soda and juice boxes and checked them. The porter saw me put some extras in prior to his taking the bag and had no problems with them. I hand carry my liquor bottles with me as they're glass, but the others I have checked.

Onboard you can buy a soft cooler bag with 6 cans of soda for $12.00. It is called a Castaway Cay survival pack. They sold it on deck 9. They pack it with ice for you.

A note about putting beverages in checked luggage- it will be handeld somewhat roughly at points, you don't want an exploding mess in there. I really recommend carryon. You also don't need copiuous amounts of soda- you DO get it with lunch and dinner free, and they have so many other included beverage offerings onboard, such at the drink station on deck 9. Also remember the shipboard water is ALL purified water, including the faucets right in your cabin. It is completely equal to bottled water as far as I'm concerned. We'd drink it from the sink faucet with the provided ice in the included glassware when in the room. :) As far as the rest- also look at your itenerary- We didn't bring any from home, but did pick up some pops and water at pur first port the next morning, Key West from a local grocer (THANKS SHIRLEY!!). To give you a measure- for the two of us we bought one six pack of 12oz 'sport' size water and one six pack of pepsi bottles, and I think we'll just polish them off by the end of the trip. We bought the water bottles more for convenience than need- we could have just kept refilling one bottle if we really wanted to, but on the excursions it was just easier to bring one.
