Just read this:
Food coolers containing personal snack foods and drinks may not be brought onboard.

So...can I or can I not bring snacks? Just as long as they are not in a cooler? :confused3

As with many things Disney, there are written rules and enforced rules. You cannot have ice in a cooler. You can bring on wrapped/packaged prepared snacks, but there is plenty of food on the ship. Many people bring boxed/bagged movie snacks, food for special diets, granola bar type things fro excursions, etc.

From the days of the snack bar in the terminal, DD boarded carrying 1/2 of a bagel--no one said a word.

Food Item's packed in a commercial way within the US are allowed aboard.
Chip's, Cookies, Snack Bar's etc are allowed, and allowed in a cooler if you wish to bring them on that way.

You may not bring coolers onboard. You may bring prepackaged, sealed snacks. You may bring prepackaged, sealed drinks (including adult beverages!) in your CARRY-ON luggage only.

ETA: The "no coolers" rule generally applies to the large, hard-sided variety. If you have a small/soft-sided or fold-up cooler (I have one I use as a lunch bag, for example), that shouldn't be a problem. But you can't bring on a giant rolling cooler full of beer and ice.

I had read about bringing movie theater snacks and have written it in my "book of info" then just read about not bringing any on!

I guess rules are made to be broken:rolleyes1

No, just keep them sealed in there packaging until you get aboard. They are allowed, but don't push the terminal staff by having them open and give them a reason to say or do anything to exert their authoooraaatayyy!.

Hard sided coolers are not allowed. Ice in coolers is not allowed. Soft sided coolers without ice with packaged, unopened items are allowed as part of carry ons. All beverages must be in carry on luggage (not checked.)

Lookie here though:

Coolers filled with personal items (e.g. soda, chips, candy, etc.) may not be brought on board..... Seems really wishy washy and confusing.

I will be bringing candy thanks to ya'll but without the help of the DIS I would be at a loss! So thanks!!!

From the link above...emphasis mine:

Coolers are not permitted except for those needed for medications, baby food or items related to dietary constraints. Items must be pre-packaged, unopened and cannot require any food prep from the kitchen. Coolers filled with personal items (e.g. soda, chips, candy, etc.) may not be brought on board. Homemade items or pre-cooked items purchased on the way to the ship will not be allowed to be brought aboard. Also, open bags or containers of snack items should not be brought aboard. All items will need to be stored in the stateroom; the ship's storage and/or refrigeration are not available to use.

Yes, I suppose it can be a bit confusing. But the bottom line is, as long as the snacks are pre-packaged and still sealed, you're good. Just remember that any beverages must be in your carry-on!

No personal items.

Prepackaged, comercial bought snacks are fine, even in your checked luggage.
ANY LIQUIDS or BEVERAGES are NOT, they MUST be in your carry on or may be confiscated.

If only DCL made it that clear on their website! :rotfl2:

There is food all over the ship. There is so reason to bring any more food on board.

That's like saying there is alcohol all over the ship, so no reason to bring any on.

So yes, seriously.

I think people bring alcohol on the ship to save money. You have to pay for your drinks, not your snacks.
There is just so much food on board that I wanted to stress that. The availabilty to food is everywhere!

I have NO doubt about the availability and suppleness of food however I know just how a lollipop at just the right time can stifle my daughter's cry like nobody's business!

I also have read that there is no vanilla creamer onboard. And if mama ain't happy then nobody happy!

It will also be nice to bring our own healthyish candy as opposed to what they may offer on the ship (organic lollipops and organic gummies minus HFCS etc)

It's a matter of comfort and ease when I travel with 2 under 4.....and a 34 year old kid too aka DH:rotfl:

I brought a case of water and various sealed snacks along with apples and bananas. This is what was left over from our WDW stay prior to the cruise. The cheese crackers came in handy in the morning. While we were sitting on our varandah watching the ship slide into port our kids could snack instead of whining for breakfast.

The one thing I will bring again is a case of water. I much prefer the taste and portability of bottled water and it is so handy to have to take onshore instead of buying it as you leave the ship. I even put this case of water in my check luggage. oooops, sorry Disney. A mistake I will not make again since reading these boards. I didn't know any better.

When we left the ship on our last day we gave the case of water to our room attendant and he thanked us for it saying that he appriciated having his own bottled water he did not have to buy.

Unless, say, you're both lactose intolerant AND have ciliac disease (can't eat wheat or wheat products in any amount, which restricts a very surprising number of foods -- its EVERYWHERE!).

I know that they will prepare special meals for me that I can eat, but random food from around the ship will be Really problematic (just like it is in the rest of the universe). I'm going to bring my pre-approved snack bars and single serving size beef jerky packets on-board.

Snack attacks and low blood sugar moments will be abated without the possibility of entering 21 days of h*ll.

So I think I have read about bringing a case of water bottles. Do I just bring the case as is sealed in the plastic wrap with my name on it or does it have to be in some type of carry bag?

I'm wondering the same thing about water bottles. I want to bring some on but I don't want to lug them around with me for a few hours in a carryon. On different sites I have seen the following: someone's pic of their checked baggage sitting curbside at port ready for pick up, and they had a large case of water with their luggage. I also read someone told the guy taking checked baggage that they had water bottles in one of the checked bags and he said it's ok. But I also remember from our last cruise those same guys letting us know they didn't work for Disney and that basically they'd like tips. Which means they might say it's ok, but once that baggage does make it to disney workers, the water will be confiscated. Can anyone else chime in with what you know about this or tips on lugging a case of water on board yourself?

=) Thanks!

We are planning to bring some prepackaged snacks since DH is a diabetic and you never know when low blood sugar could hit. Especially for Castaway Cay day.

Oh yes, there is. We brought Austrian chocolate as FE gifts, we always have a few packages of cookies in the luggage as we wake up and are hungry at strange times due to jet lag and I don't want to have room service at 3 am, I just want to munch a few cookies and get back to sleep (hopefully).
We always have snacks in our handluggage for long distance flights, in case we don't like the food on board and don't throw it away just because we board a ship, we use it for the flight back.
