For many years i have sat back and watched as they dismatel the Magic Kindom,It seems they are taking more attractions away for what they are replacing them with, I mean come on,you get ride of 20000 leaques and you put in a play area, look at all the attractions that are no longer there,Mike fink keel boats, war canoes, diamond horse shoe revue, and thats just one side of the park,The magic Kingdom is a scaled down version of Disneyland with alot more land,Its about time we start a campain to have them bring back Mr Toads wild ride, i think with todays technology they could build a very cool version, that ride was awesome and is very well missed and they need to build it again, let me hear what you think

Good Lord no. Why bring back that thing. I say keep Pooh, maybe spruce it up like the Tokyo version. Or if you must, change it. But Mr Toad is gone for good hopefully.

It's not always possible to satisfy everyone. Disney has to do what's financially better off for the company. They're always going to have to try new things to bring in new guests. While I don't like it that things change, it's a part of life and has to be accepted.

I liked Mr. Toad better, but Pooh is undoubtedly more popular and well known. They could at least clean that attraction though. It is thoroughly disgusting-there is a thick layer of grime and dust on evry surface!

:smooth: Mr. Toad's ride was a bunch of painted plywood cutouts, disguised by being judiciously disguised by darkness. On top of that, 95% of the WDW visitors never heard of it, making it an underutilized attraction. When it went, maybe 75 diehards protested but that was it. It was replaced by the Pooh ride; which enjoys substantial support by visitors...see the wait times.

I miss 20,000 leagues under the sea - now that was a wicked cool ride! (at least from what I remember from 30 years ago!)

Winnie the Pooh is a cute ride but Mr. Toad's was so much more fun and a little on the scary side...felt more like an adventure than a ride.

sadly, people don't watch the old movies much, and that is what matters. i assume the majority of park visitors are americans and most of us have the attention span and recollection of a puppy on caffeine. if it didn't happen yesterday, it doesn't matter. if it isn't fireworks and speed, it must be replaced or overlooked. it is really sad.

i think this is also the reason so many people dismiss the animal kingdom as "nothing to do." there is plenty to fill a whole day if you can start using your imagination and not just your senses.

too many people miss the point of too many things...if you don't believe me, watch "cars" again.

I miss the Toad. When comparing the two, all I can think is "I'd rather pick up toads than pooh."

I think everything should be removed and replaced with some Pixar rides...gessh Snow White the movie was like 50 years ago, no one remembers that...What is Big Thunder anyway? or space mountain? Those have nothing to do with anything, so lets take those out and put in some type of Pixar ride. Oh and did anybody see Song of the South? I doubt many disney visitors know that movie so lets get rid of Splash mountain too! :stir: ...sorry, but I had to. :)

Ok, on topic, I miss Toad. I always went on that ride and I remember the line was always long for Toad. I never ride Pooh, but thats just me. I do miss the Diamond Horseshoe review and the mike fink boats too.

I love Toad and make sure to take a ride with him everytime I go to Disneyland. I just love the part at the end where it gets really hot and you see the devil and suddenly you realize where you and Toad have gone together!

I also love all things Pooh and was thrilled when Disneyland got the Pooh ride a few years ago. Luckily, Disneyland has both Toad and Pooh and I was a little sad to hear that MK doesn't have both.

When I go to MK next month, I will miss my friend Toad. At least I know I can see him at Disneyland! :)

I agree with you. I listen to the micecast podcast, and they always seem to complain about changes that disney makes to the park. If people are so mad at disney for the changes, then don't go. I miss toad too, but i understand why they put pooh in there. Some people are upset with tomorrowland because it has Buzz in it, and it will have Monsters, Inc. in it. It doesn't stick to the "Tomorrow" theme. But I believe it can. And when it comes to sticking to a future theme, Future World should have the higher standard. MK has to have characters in it. I do love the original rides with original storylines. But I understand why Disney puts more marketable characters in MK. Toad wasn't as marketable as Pooh. Timekeeper isn't as marketable as Monsters, Inc. If you had Wings wasn't as marketable as Buzz. What everyone has to hope for is not that Disney keeps every attraction that you loved, but that the replacements are up to Disney standards. Pooh needs to be cleaned, but the ride itself is great. I love how the vehicles "move", they bounce and sway. Hopefully 20,000 area will get better then just the playground. If you want to be upset, be upset because the replacement is not up to par with expectations.

How about we keep Pooh and bring back Mr. Toad? I would be happy to rip out Stitch and put Mr. Toad in there!
As corny as it may have been, I have very fond memories of 20,000 Leagues.

Amen to that!! And BTW, you can't even compare 20K to Toad. Toad is a straight from the warehouse carnival attraction and 20K was a much larger, costlier and imaginative project. That's just my opinion but, go ahead, I'm prepared to be incinerated.

:rolleyes1

The original Mr. Toad and Snow White rides were essentially the same thing, and Pooh is just a Disney imagineered enhancement. If we brought back Mr. Toad in its original or a similar form, would there be more groans than were heard when Aladdin's Carpets (the same thing as Dumbo) was announced and opened?

My take on this is to re-build Mr. Toad at Epcot at the UK pavillion.

WS needs some kid-friendly rides and Toad could be built with state-of the art vehicles and a few better effects.

Toady is British and he'd fit right in.

Mr. Toad was by far one of my childhood favorites, and you can dress up Pooh all you want, but it can't compare!!!!!!!!!!!.Thank god I got into pooh at the last second before closing time with no wait time the only time i rode it.It's cute and all, but boooooooooooooooooooring!!!!!

I never said i wasnt a fan of the pooh ride, nor am i advocating getting rid of it.I just think they should re add the ride as a new version, the line to the toad ride in california is always packed, and the other point i was making is that for every ride they get rid of, they dont always replace it. so there are now less attractions then there was 25 years ago. and if you compare Magic Kingom to disneyland you will see bar far that diseyland has 40% more attractions.pull up both parks and compare for your self and whats amazing about that is that they have less land to deal with

I always likes Mr. Toad and 20k.. they were favorites of mine as a kid. I don't hate the pooh attraction but would love to see a version of Mr. Toad in the MK again... and turning 20k into a play area is just wrong :confused3

I do have to say however that we are lucky to have these kinds of arguments over the attractions at WDW... it means they are changing constantly and trying to bring new things into the mix.. not just sticking with old attractions that might be getting stale. I agree with a poster before who said we should be complaining if the new attraction isn't up to par with "disney" standards.. but not that they are constantly changing and trying new things... :thumbsup2

Please don't dwell too much on the negative. It's not healthy...and it's one of the biggest problems with society today--putting too much focus on the negative and not paying enough attention to the positive. :sad2:
