We just bought the coolest and best Christmas tree stand! It is called the Krinner Christmas tree stand. I am not exaggerating when I say it took us 30 seconds to put our 10' douglas fir tree up, perfectly straight. This is the neatest thing...here is a picture:

All you have to do is set the tree in the middle of the stand, then press the foot pedal to ratchet close the holder. Once it is set, you lock the handle and that is it. It cost $60 at FIM and it is well worth it when I think of the hassles we have had before.

Now we just have to put all those lights on! :p

Great idea!

What's the little red light for? Does it let you know when the water is low?

I wondered the same thing... I found it on a web site, it's not a light it's a float and does show the water level.

Did you hear about this on WGN Radio, mrsv? ;)

I wasn't aware they cost that much tho. Very neat idea!

LOL KimRaye! No, for once I didn't hear about on good ole WGN! :p I first saw it in a catalog for $70 0r $80 so I was pleased to find it for $60 in FIM.

They are a bit pricey, but since it is something you keep for years, I didn't mind so much. Especially since I am generally the one crawling under the tree trying to tighten the screws with the pliers! As long as it holds up I will be very pleased.

And yes, the red button is a float. The stand holds about 1.5 gallons and the float sinks when the stand looses about 1/3 of the water.
