At WDW now. Bridged my first ticket after reading advise on the DIS boards. Originally went to AK to do it. With antsy sons and a dinner res to make back at AKV, I wasn't in the right frame of mind to monitor this little transaction. CM was very nice and friendly, but didn't talk to me at all during the process. Ultimately, he just gave me a total, which I just about choked on--it seemed way higher than I remembered calculating and I wasn't sure it was worth it anymore. But, again, long line forming behind me (at the one open window), I accepted the charge and was in my way.

I couldn't sleep that night because I couldn't make the math work. Of course, I left all my original calculations at home. Found enough numbers to know I didn't understand what I was charged. In the least, it seems I was credited less than what I paid for them thru UT! Yikes! That backfired.

Went back to Guest Relations at DHS today and explained what happened. CM checked and discovered the original CM "missed the bridging step." I showed him the amount I paid on UT and he was able to offer to refund the amount to bring it to what I paid. At that point I figured it didn't hurt to ask about using the current gate price.

He readily agreed, and the person helping him showed him how/what to do. I was shocked. He said, "we like to err on the side of the guests." Obviously, I originally bought the UT tickets with this loophole in mind, but I would've thought it fair as long as I got credited what I paid.

Bottom line: be sure you take your numbers/calculations with you, and don't be afraid to ask.
