Bridge closed at carribean

The idea of a boat shuttle crossed my mind. This makes me very happy :)

The boat actually pulls up on the beach near the Jamaica pool and heads directly across the water to the beach. The boat holds up to 10 people. They pull out a little step stool and you enter the front of the boat. Hours posted are 9 am to 7 pm

Thanks actually really cool! Thanks for the that~

Totally cool - CBR gets a boat ferry! I love all the boat transportation WDW has. If I had a CBR visit planned that little boat ride would feel like a special upgrade - nice touch Disney! Hope we get more pix of the boat in action. I've always read that 'calling the front desk' at a WDW resort actually connects you to a call center which answers as the front desk - so CMs answering the phone as CBR aren't actually on site.

No- we used the bridge that goes right from aruba/Jamaica to the main pool. Now- I cant guarentee that they didnt close it after we left, but a few days ago while the "main" section of the bridge is closed- you can still cross by walking by the playground on the island area.

I believe the bridge between Aruba/Jamaica and the island has now been closed. :(

Thank you for the photo. I wondered how they were boating guests across due to the lack of a boat deck on Aruba/Jamaica side. I think this mostly fits for those wanting to use the pool or others who don't mind walking on sand. At least the resort is trying their best to be accommodating, but I'm sure they are feeling the heat from clueless guests...

Just called up the resort, and the kind Lady on the phone checked the refurbishment plans and told me they have November the 22nd as to when it will be complete.

Of course, that could always change a few days on either side, or if there's complications. We're not staying until December the 14th for only one night, but with so little time we were thinking about switching resorts. Although, with a three week cushion we should be fine.

Sorry PhonixWright, OT, but had to comment on your screen name and picture! As soon as I saw your icon. LOVE it!!!! (Wish I didn't already do ALL of the games and that they would make more for here, Apollo Justice, whoever, just love their humor)

Having the bridge out may play in our favor as many will request room changes to more on the other side of the resort thus leaving the other side not-so-crowded lol :rolleyes1

At least the week we are going CBR is full.

I'm here now and they have individual shuttle vans for each village going from that village to Port Royale and back. It says last shuttle stops at 12:30am.

Sad news as our trip ends on the 20th ... and we will have someone in a scooter, very worried about how the flood of requests for buildings close ... and of course its too late to book preferred ...

Thankyou for this and the picture. This helped ease my mind tremendously!

I was just told the boats run only from 9am to 7pm and the shuttle vans run from 6:30am to 12:30am. The vans hold more passengers (at least 12-13).

We stayed there 8/27-9/2. I requested Aruba and Jamaica during online check in and was annoyed that we got Martinique. After I saw that the bridge was closed I was VERY thankful we were placed where we were.

No wonder we got our room via text & email so early around 7:00am on our arrival day! Aruba and Jamaica is practically empty right now. There's no one on our side of the floor and building lol It's good since it's pretty quiet in the mornings...no doors slamming, kids running around, etc.
