A co-worker told me that Breeze Airways offers discounts on tickets if purchased in-person at the airport counter on Tuesdays. I did some research and found the following:
Breeze Airways offers "Ticket Tuesday" in-person discounts, allowing travelers to save by booking directly at airport ticket counters, typically between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM ET. This method avoids online booking fees and the "Technology Development Charge," offering lower fares on many routes.

Does anyone know exactly what type of savings this amounts to?
Has anyone every done this?

I live 8 minutes from the airport, so it wouldn't be much of a hassle to try it out

I fly Breeze often. I have never been myself to buy in person because I have a travel membership where someone does it for me.

Different airports might have different hours so just be sure to double check yours. Certain airports have very long lines, others have zero lines. If you start booking online go all the way to check out then hover over fees, at the airport the technology fee is waived. It's often a big savings.

Breeze coupons do not work in person just an FYI

It sounds like what Spirit used to or still offers.

I would love to give Breeze a try but they just don't provide the flexibility that I require with flying only certain days and then it takes all day.
It is showing a total time of 8 hours and even with a connection on AA or Delta it is only 4ish hours. That 4 hours wasted is more valuable to me than what the savings can provide for me.

I’m lucky enough that the routes I fly with them they literally just go back and forth between the same 2 destinations so delays have never happened. I always land early which is slightly frustrating. I have figured out that they overstate time in air in order to keep up their on time rate 😂

Why would they offer a discount to go in person when they have to hire staff to book you a ticket? Wouldn't it be cheaper for them if you booked the ticket yourself online?
Certainly it is cheaper for them for you to do it online since it is most likely the same system anyway.

However if someone is really on a tight budget or as @happily single is and lives close to the airport this provides another opportunity to sell a ticket that wouldn't have been otherwise sold and the agents are already there at the airport anyways.

They are counting on people not driving to the airport to save money but offer it as a pr stunt to save their is an opportunity to save if you do it this way.

It's probably the same staff who:
* Books the ticket
* Checks in passengers and baggage

And possibly:
* Act as gate agents to help board
* Sort/load/unload bags.

You're going to have staff on site already, this would just be an added duty. Cost to the company: $0.

So you are sitting in line to check in and people are clogging up the lines to check fares on various dates and routings?

I prefer Alaska where they charge you to book with a human. At least they don't charge you extra to have a staff person check in your luggage. Although they are pushing you to the self service baggage check stations. They are trying to reduce staff anyway they can. At least they still have human pilots and flight attendants for now.

I'm sure they will have the occasional person cause the line to back up but the OP mentioned it was only offered during certain times so perhaps they are not flying during those hours in which case it really wouldn't matter to much.

Alaska is a full fledged airline so they don't charge extra for booking it online. I'm not sure why you prefer Alaska because you get charged to book with a Human. Personally I would rather have the option to book online or with a human at no charge.

Maybe? I don't know. I don't fly with them, therefore I don't book with them. I was simply pointing out the airline doesn't HAVE to hire staff just to take bookings on site.

It will be a LONG time before there's no one in the cockpit, if they ever go away, same with FAs.

It's basically a tax scam. There is a federal excise tax on airfares. The tax doesn't apply to fees for checked bags, assigned seats etc. Those fees are considered optional

A handful of ULCC categorize part of the fare as a fee to book the flight via internet 800#. The fee has to be optional to avoid taxes. Buying the ticket at the airport avoids the fee making the fee optional

Why aren't they charging $1 for the airfare then a $300 for an assigned seat fee? No different that the nonsense they pull in Las Vegas with the $19 rooms and $59 resort fees.
