Breaking NEWS PHOTO SESSIONS!!!!!! :-)

I did a photo shoot at Saratoga Springs and they came out great! The golf course and surrounding woods and waterfall shots are beautiful - I used them for Christmas cards and people asked if we went someplace exotic on vacation.

does anyone know if you can pay for the photoshoot using your birthday fun card??

I am not sure but that is a FABULOUS question... i would love to know this as well as we are planning to do this durring my bday trip (i already hae tix so i could use my bday fun card and never miss the cash!!!)

I have some photos that are not new but I never posted them because I was unhappy at the time. There are some pretty dark ones. I decided I am ok with them so I will share a couple these were at the Poly Sept 08 last session of the day so it was getting dark. and there was wind so we have some wild hairdo's

im really surprised by these photos. i'm used to disney creating quality memories and i don't see these as being high quality. I don't think that disney should offer a service that is not up to the Disney Standard. I'm not expecting them to hire professional photographers but they should at least teach them the basics of low light photography and offcamera flash techniques. They should not pick someone off main street usa photopass duty and let them be in charge of taking something as important as a family photograph. Granted you're not paying that much but still...

We are planning to do this in July. My DD17 hopes to use some of the pictures for her senior picture shots. Has anyone done this? Has anyone requested a particular photographer with any success? Do the photographers work at all of the resorts?

No help with any of the other questions, but wanted to say that we decided to use 2 of the shots of my DS alone as his "7-year" pics instead of going to Portrait Innovations or something. His birthday was right after we got back, and things are really busy. I was like, why do I need to do that? We got some Great shots of him alone, I'll just get them printed. So I did. Our photographer asked if we wanted all different combinations, I said yes. We got just a couple of DH and I alone, kids solo, kids together, all 4 of us (a bunch of those) and each of the kids alone with each of us which was nice.

i think you could definitely use them for her senior picture!

thats what I told the guy who took them. I started out nice but the less helpful he got the more upset I got I ended up leaving in tears after the guy told me I was expecting to much for $25.00 I wrote a letter when I got home but didn't get anywhere

We did a photo session at the GF on Tuesday the 26th at 9:00 am. Overall we were very pleased. Our only complaint was that the sun was in our eyes outside and made the outside pictures difficult, but out photographer counted and we opened our eyes right in time for the pictures. Of course since we had my nephew and 7 adults, it was hard to get a good family picture where everyone looked good, but that is the same anywhere. We did get some great shots though, here are a few of my favorites.

I can't for the life of me figure out how to get my pictures bigger, they look much better and less pixelated full size...

For $99.95 we got the CD with all the prints and a print package (we got 5 5x7's, but you could also get other print packages that included some 8x10's or 4x6's.) It was definitely worth the money for us since we aren't together as a family like this often, and we got lucky with a good photographer as well.

stitchfan18, your pictures are beautiful. Thanks for sharing them with us. :goodvibes

These are awesome- I love the one with the parents walking on the beach with the baby- how sweet.
Thank you for sharing- I am trying to decide which resort to schedule for our shoot, do you remember you photographers name? I want to get a good one.

Everyone has been so helpful here. and I hope that this question has not bee asked too many time, but, We are planning a photo shoot with the whole family(9 of us) but were wondering about doing a separate sitting for our twin boys woh will be seniors next year. I read somewhere that additional sittings were less expensive, and if that were the case we might be able to save some money on senior pics. We have pre-purchased the CD already, and I think I read that additional sittings were $25.
Thanks in advance

Has anyone done this with a bigger group? There will be 12 of us total. I really want to do this because it will be my parents 40th anniversary that we are celebrating and my dad has been battling cance for the last 4 years, so this trip is extra special.

We are thinking about having them done at the Poly after we have our must have every trip breakfast at O'Hana. It would be at about 10:30 or 11. Anybody know if that is a good or bad time?

Would love to see examples of someone who has done a resort sitting at AKL. I'm considering doing it in August, but would like to see samples first. Thanks!

Stitchfan18,
How did you order your CD and plan the shoot? We are heading to WDW on June 10th and I keep going back and forth about doing the shoot. If you don't mind filling me in on the logistics of planning it I would be much appreciative!!!
By the way, the photos are beautiful!
Thanks

I called the PhotoPass desk at the Poly today (6/5/09) and asked a few questions. I hope this is helpful for everyone - it certainly was for me!

If you are NOT planning to pre-purchase the PhotoPass CD, there are two options:
$49.95 - includes one package of photos and the sitting fee (the print packages include 7 prints in various combinations of 4x6, 5x7 and 8x10s)
$99.95 - includes a CD of all the photos taken during your session (no extras or borders, etc.) as well as one photo package
With either package you have your choice of which photos are printed - the package does not have to be just one pose

If you ARE pre-purchasing the PhotoPass CD:
$99.95 package is discounted to $70. He did confirm that the session photos are on a separate CD from the PhotoPass CD.

All prices above are before tax.

You can book the session up to 30 days in advance; you pay when you arrive for the session, so you can decide then what package you want. The phone number to book is 1-407-934-4004 - you will be prompted for which resort you want. The choices are GF (option 1), Poly (option 2), BC (option 3), WL (option 4) or AKL (option 5).

The session lasts 20-30 minutes, which gives you between 30 and 60 images, depending on the size of your group, cooperation of children and such.

He said the best time for a photo session is anytime before 10 am or after 4:30 pm - lighting is key. He also suggested wearing solid, light colored clothing. Stripes and colorful patterns can be distracting.

Lastly I asked what happens if we have the session and are unhappy with the photos - he said we would be issued a refund.

I thanked him profusely for all his time and the details he provided. I asked if he was a photographer and he said yes. His name is Alex if anyone wants to ask for him - he was very nice and very helpful!

I pre-ordered my Photopass CD in time to get the $25 offer at the bottom of the email. Our trip is not until Nov/Dec and I know I'm going to have to deal with the hassle of getting the code re-instated, etc, but I'm wondering...do you think they will honor the $25 price even in Nov/Dec?? I really hope so because I think that is the only way DBF will agree to us doing it!!

Is the $25 photo session still available?

It was not offered to me as an option when I called the Poly today. My guess is that if you have a confirmation email from your PhotoPass CD purchase that states in writing that a $25 session is available, Disney will most likely honor it - as long as it's not past the expiration date. If not, $70+tx seems to be the least expensive option.

Good luck!

I wanting to do AKL in August as well and would also LOVE to see some examples!!!!! The lady i spoke with on the phone said they are a mixture of indoors and outdoors which would be neat and also good for the unpredictabel (and HOT) weather.

I'm planning a session with DB when we visit in July. You can pre-order the cd before the 30-day mark? I'm sorry, I'm a bit confused. :confused3
