Breaking NEWS PHOTO SESSIONS!!!!!! :-)

Ok here are some pic's from the photo session. I'm very sorry but I don't know how to make the pictures smaller.

Great pics!! I can't believe you got a 13 year old boy to take portraits!! I have 13 and 14 year old cousins, and it's like pulling teeth to get them to take a family photo without sticking their tongues out or crossing their eyes. :upsidedow Way to go, mom!! I especially liked seeing your pictures because our families have similar complexions (we're Native American, and I'm half Samoan, as well), and I have yet to see that on this thread. Now I know, although I had an inkling, that we won't blend into the sand like some people mentioned. ;) Thanks for posting!!

FINALLY!!! Here are my pics!! I'm really happy with how everything turned out considering how tired the kids were.

Love the one with Stitch in the corner!

As promised!!! Here are the Poly pics from our 5/8 session. I got photos from all of our "poses" -- but tried to pick the good ones!! ;)

YEAH!! They did get the waterfalls!! DD just didn't cooperate...

image243.jpg

Then we went outside and stopped along the water for some more pics
image245.jpg

A wider view of the boats
image249.jpg

They did separate shots of DD and mom/dad.

Black and White Version
image262.jpg

And then we did a husband/wife version with the same backdrop
image267.jpg

More in the next post...

Then we went to the beach

Pretty flowers
image270.jpg

Some edits you can make with borders...
image282.jpg

I really like these series of photos with the palm tree..

image290.jpg

I would not have thought of looking at each other but this is really cool...
image294.jpg

And they made us kiss...
image295.jpg

Notice what you see in the background!
image297.jpg

We didn't have a hammock pose but got the swing instead.

Great shots! I'm excited to see the new photos from the Poly sessions. You've only shown two different back grounds here. How many different back grounds did they do for you? I like the red shirts too. We did all white shirts over at our GF photo session last Oct., but the red looks good with the flowers at Poly.

Thanks for sharing!

Then DD wanted to play in the sand and our photographer tried to capture her spirit...

image307.jpg

Then he had us walking along the beach...we have about 20 of these pics of us walking and running and well, frankly, I think they're not too good...several of them came out too dark so I'm not posting those...here are the better ones...
image313.jpg

This is more like a GF photo session than a poly one...
image318.jpg

Remember Bo Derek running down the beach? Well this isn't her...:rotfl2:
image324.jpg

Then we just went for some fun shots and played with our DD -- she looks great!
image328.jpg

Our family having fun!
image331.jpg

Back to the flowers again
image337.jpg

Another family portrait
image344.jpg

Hey, the flowers match her dress!!
image350.jpg

Very cute photo -- just wished we all would have done more to get DD to look at the camera...

Marshay, thanks so much for posting your pictures from Poly, I was hoping to see some before I decide where to book our session. I am still not sure I have just a couple of days until I can call. Your pictures turned out great I love the one on the beach when you are all laughing it looks very natural :) Your daughter is precious.

Marshay, they are GREAT! Thanks for posting the link over there in the Adventurosity thread!

DD is so pretty in her sundress!

They did
1) Inside waterfalls
2) Outside near boats
3) Outside with blue flowers (twice)
4) Outside with palm tree
5) Walking along the beach
6) Running along the beach
7) Playing in the sand
8) On the swing
9) Outside with hibiscus

If we do it again, I will say to skip #5 and #6 and do some more with the flowers inside or out. I'd also like to go to the dock to get some water shots there.

I'm pleased with our photos now that I have edited them...and will probably do it again (maybe at AK when they open up there). However, next time I'm going to scout out the resort for some good spots and not just rely on the photographer.

you are SO selling me on this! I don't know if we'll do it this year with just DH and I but I definitely want to do it when we have kids!

Thanks! Yeah, I think the one of us all laughing really represents us the best -- it'll probably be our chrismas card...

Great pics from the Poly!! WOW

Thanks! I was really nervous about the red shirts (see my previous posts) but someone else suggested doing orange and then we had 3 pieces of clothing all in similar red and voila!

Marshay, they are GREAT! Thanks for posting the link over there in the Adventurosity thread!

yeah, I'm pleased with them overall.

I think this will be another must-do for us...each time we go (we've done both the GF and the Poly now) we are learning more.

Marshay-

Love the laughing pic, too!!

I agree with you about the beach pics. Not that your family doesn't look lovely, but the composition just isn't good.

The red looks GREAT in the waterfall pictures!! Good choice!

Also, a lot of my favorite pics of my little ones are when they're not paying attention to the camera at all. Granted, I would like them to smile for the birdie once in a while. DS is into his fake smile for pictures now. Let's hope we can get out of that phase by our Poly session next Wednesday. Haha!!

Thanks for posting your pics!!

Hi Marshay,
Thanks for posting your POly pics - your family is so cute and photogenic! You have definitely sold me on the red shirts and IMHO the waterfall pic inside is the best. At least I feel I am a little more prepared for what to tell the photographer what poses I want in August. Can I ask though - what time was your appointment?
Thanks!

so if i am in a photopass how much would this cost??

If you buy the CD ahead of time it'll cost you $25. If you don't it'll cost $50.

For those in a photopass share who pre-purchased the CD, it may cost you either $25 or $50, depending if someone in your group went before you. But really this is all at the discretion of the person taking your money.

My cashier barely looked at my receipt...however Disney could start to track individual photo sessions to individual receipts and just charge the first person $25 and the others $50.

I don't recall anyone in a photopass share doing the session and reporting back to us what really happened...all just speculation. Someone called Disney up to ask about it but not sure if more than one person in the same photoshare did it yet...

Thanks for the compliments! I really think the red tied it all together and agree that getting more indoor photos would be good.

Our appointment was 10am and the sun was already really bright. Near the end my DH said he was done b/c the sun was too hard on his eyes.

I wanted to go at dusk (7pm) but the last time they had was 5:30pm and that didn't work for us.

Marshay,

I love the pictures. I wonder if they are doing that at Disneyland now.

Thanks! Good question -- not sure...

The other new PhotoPass thing they are doing is having "roving photographers" in the park. These are the same Disney Photographers in the park but they are allowed to move around a bit.

We met two of them in Mexico and our guy took pics of us in front of the Mexican temple and then suggested that we try on the sombrero hats outside and took pics of us near the water.

There was another guy taking pics in the foilage/plants to the right of Mexico (so it was only a bunch of green plants in the background).

They said they are starting to add more "roving photographers" throughout the parks but Mexico is the only place I saw them.

They had the roving photographers in Disneyland and in California Adventure last year but instead of a CD they put the pictures on linhe with an option to buy. I hope they have changed to the CD at DL because the price isn't bad and the pictures are kind of fun.

MARSHAY Great pics....looks like you had a blast. :thumbsup2

I like the red shirts, next time I would never wear such a busy shirt....your daughter looks like she had a good time, I bet she had to warm up to the camera. I know my son had too
