My weekend looks a little like this.....

Today, I was hunting HayRide.

Found me a Black Cat!

Couldn't resist the Windmill.

And my category stretch for this week.....Leaf Pile!

Next door to the farm, is an old convent. I think you can see the building in one of the hay ride shots. Turns out there was lots of activity there as well...


There's a Steiner shool at the premises....and it was their Spring Fair.

And even MORE unexpected....this was at the convent as well...

And there was lots of signs to tickle my sense of humour! Anyone up for Speed Dating - Vegan style?

And my personal favourite....SoyAlent Green!

But their food looked great!

Okay. These are from the Vegan festival...

The convent facilities looked picture perfect, at times.

A couple more quirky things.

And a few more about food.

The lady running this stall was kind enough to let me take pictures of the produce....

And then asked me to send some to her....so, I did some promo ones.

And look what I got paid!

Banana....organic......$4 EACH!!!!!! And two deliciously flavoured superb strawberries.

I bet your DH really enjoyed that festival. The food looks great. Its funny how vendors dont want you taking pics of their stuff. Thanks for sharing. You guys do alot of things.

The funny thing is that DS didn't want to go. So, DH stayed home with him.

If we had known that the Vegan festival was on, we would have DRAGGED DS out the door kicking and screaming.

Why? I certainly covered a LOT of ground today. DH didn't want to push DS out the door...I tried to get them to go; but I think DH was happy to have a quiet day at home as well.

After today's Vegan brush, I'm going to need meat tomorrow. So, I'm going to make some Sweet and Sour chicken. DS has asked for it again....and it will be part of his homework for this week. Long story! But we should get it done sooner rather than later.

Hmmm with the piles in the background this look like compost piles to me.

It sure is a compost pile. The others are taking gorgeous pictures of fall leaves raked in nice piles. It isn't autumn downunder....so I category stretch a lot, like this!


They are feeding it to the animals. It's not a working farm; just one for the city kids to go to. You can't tell from the pictures....but this farm is within 3 - 5 km from the center of Melbourne.

They run a cafe on the property and I guess they have excess.

That was going to be dinner tomorrow for us too. But I used all of the green pepper I had making fajitas yesterday. And we don't like pinappple. I may make orange chicken with some lightly cooked brocolli.

I think it's bound to happen because we both make a lot of stir fry for our boys. Though I don't make fish like you. I did make garlic shrimp the other night.
