Can anyone recommend any good breakfast places that might be near the port that we can stop and eat at before we board???? A buffet place or a sit down place is fine. And I'm talking like eating at 9am or so.

Thanks

Hi there - the closest place to the port that I would recommend is Zackery's which is right next door to the Radisson - getting off in Merritt Island would make it confusing for first timers and traffic is unbelieveable - BUT if that is what you would like - I recommend Country Kitchen which is about 2 miles or so south on North Courtenay Pkway - you get off of State Road 528 and head South - you will find it on the West side of the road accross the street from Merritt Island High School.
If I can help- just call the shop 800-950-4559.
Always

Is there a Waffle House near by. We have to go there whenenver we are in Orlando. Dh LOVES the pecan waffles.

Just curious as to why you would want a big sit down breakfast right before you board? As soon as you board (12:15) DCL provides a beautful buffet lunch in either Parrot Cay or up on Deck 9.

We just do a quick Dunkin Donuts run in the AM to tide us over until that great lunch buffet onboard.

I am pretty sure there is either a waffle house or a Perkins if you make a right out of the Radisson parking lot...about a mile or so down the road.

not me- give me a couple of cups of coffee and I'm set til lunch. Dh gets up at 5am and needs BREAKFAST!!

Yes, there is a Perkins down by the Cocoa Beach Pier, and there is a Waffle House a bit further down the road (by the Motel 6). But I recommend either Zachary's or Moon Hut. I have links to menus for both places at the Space Coast Map at my web site...

I'm glad Dave mentioned the Moon Hut. Its great for breakfast. They've got tons of interesting stuff from the Space Program as decoration including patches from most missions out of the Cape. It ain't fancy but its good diner cooking.

Well frankly the reason for me is because I know we will be up VERY early that morning just out of excitement and I can't eat that early (before 9 or 10 usually) and I will need to eat something good sized before boarding because I will be getting nervous - don't ask why, just me. And when I get nervous and stressed, I burn my food up very quickly. Plus we have ressies we want to get made and that may put us at not getting to eat until more like 2 or 3 (by the time we get settled, etc.). So, unfortunately I will be ready to eat again by 2 or 3 because after eating about 9, my food will have been burned out of me by then. And just eating a bagel and juice ain't gonna cut it. Plus we possibly are not going to eat a big meal the night before.

I am with everybody else. My mom, brother, and I have had McDonalds on our two past trips. It held us till lunch on the ship.

We also like the MoonHut. DH loves to have sunny side up eggs with potatoes when on vacation. We also tried Perkins, but we liked to look at all the pictures and NASA stuff all over the walls at the MoonHut. My uncle used to live in Cocoa Beach, he worked for NASA , worked on Skylab and we used to hear some great stories.

I have had McDonalds

Mmmm..... Waffle House. I make it a point to eat at a Waffle House as often as possible whenever I'm in the south. I don't believe there's a better cheap breakfast anywhere in the world. We just don't have that option in California.

Scattered, smothered, and covered.....

December99....sounds like a plan...though you will probably get your ressies made well before 2 or 3!!

I am always the first one up in the morning at home and on vacation...I need to eat as soon as I wake up and hubby dosen't really eat breakfast at all. He could easily wait until lunch. I like having a bagel with cream cheese and a nice cup of tea and then I am all set for that shrimp on the buffet!!! The teens will eat whatever I toss their way...sort of like the animals at the zoo!!!!

ROFL MJ...last night dh said - I'M EATING SHRIMP!!!!! So too funny you mentioned that.

The rate I got at the Radisson includes breakfast... hope it's a full breakfast at the restaurant, not a continential breakfast.
