If you have a 8:00 reservation on a day the park opens at 9:00, what do you do after breakfast? Do you have to leave the park and then re-enter? Or will breakfast probably not be over before 9:00 making this a moot point?

You don't have to exit the park, but you are not allowed to "roam free".
You can stay in the Fantasyland area and wait for the opening time.

If it's a character breakfast, it will usually last the full hour. Otherwise, you can walk around, but you do not have to re-enter!! :thumbsup2

This is a great photo opportunity to get pictures of your group without the crowds. Some of my favorite pictures of my family were taken at these times.

We have been able to wander around Main Street and the hub area (cannot cross into any of the lands, including Fantasyland!!). It's a great time to take pictures.

It's the perfect time for pics with Walt and Mickey and the castle with no people! We caught Mickey and Minnie there too and got our photo done then in front of the castle with no people! Then you have plenty of time to get where you want to be for the opening. Our character meal at the CP took about 40 minutes for DH and I so we had 20 minutes to kill.

Agreed. It would be terribly difficult to get out before an hour. If you do, though the rest of the posters are right. It's a wonderful time to take a photo with "no one" in the park. In fact, if you can get in there early enough, there are less people walking to the castle the earlier it is. Good luck and enjoy! :thumbsup2

Take your time eating but leave enough time to use the washrooms etc. If you finish eating at 8:30 am or so... just sit and talk for about 15-20 minutes and than use the washrooms or explore the restaurant.

This is an opportune time to photograph those scenes that are usually filled with other guests. I love this time.
