We are staying at the BC and it does not appear as there is a CS restaurant that serves a traditional breakfast (eggs, pancakes, etc.). I am trying to get an ADR at Cape May and will need some other options for the rest of our trip.

I am looking for opinions on the quality and popularity of breakfast at Spoodles and Captain's Grille.

Are these "must have" ADR type places?

Can anyone share any experiences, or, better yet...photos???

TIA :hippie:

We love Cape May (pics in my April link). Did Spoodles once and it was terrible, wont go back. We really enjoyed Capt Grill when we ordered off the menu (pics in Oct link) but did not like the buffet there...it is the same as Cape May but the food is not turned over as well.

Our fav is Boma and Kona, great choices but not close to your resort...I would go out of my way to eat there tho

You could always zip over to the Dolphin and eat at Picabu (formerly Tubbi's). It is a buffeteria, and they have good breakfast of the type you're talking about. It would be a lot less expensive than Cape May too. :)

Don't overlook the Marketplace at the BC and the Boardwalk Bakery. They don't have pancakes (that I know of) but do have egg sandwiches, good pastries and Marketplace has a yogurt granola & fruit parfait that DH & DS love.

The best breakfast in the EPCOT resort area is over at the Swan, Gullivers.
It is buffet style. Hot and fresh, great assortment of food, made to order eggs. No reservations, just walk in. Nice atmosphere also. Hubby and I think it's great. Short walk for you.

Picabu is ok, if you don't want something really really good.

We liked the buffet at the Cap'ns Grille. It wasn't crowded when we ate there, usually between 8:30 and 9:15.

Thank you all SO much for such great suggestions. I knew I could count on the DIS'ers!!

My DD is "all mickey waffles, all the time on vacation" so the Marketplace probably won't work. I am leaning towards some room service breakfasts.

We aren't the type to be up at 6am ond out the door on vacation so I am looking for some quicl options to aoid arriving at the parks at 11am!! LOL.

I never considered the Swan or Dolphin. Are they on the DDP? We are doing the deluxe plan so trying to avoid the out of pocket meals where possible.

Icant believe I still have to wait 77 days to be back :-(

Thanks again!

You can't go wrong with the Cape May Cafe. It is great!! We usually eat there several times during our stay so that DD16 can get her fix!! Your best bet to find quick serve dining in the area is to follow the link for dining at the top of the page and search for breakfast at the resorts. Another good option is the BW Bakery. They have great goodies for a quick breakfast!!

We have eaten at Capt's Grill for breakfast on several occasions. Never seemed to have a problem with rapid turnover, and food was always fresh. :goodvibes Even though it is a buffet, the service has always been above par, even giving us "to-go" cups for coffee or OJ.
And if my old memory serves me correct.... the also have mini Mickey waffles ;)

just me

I agree. We had breakfast three times at Captain's Grill last trip. I did the buffet once and the food was fresh as it has been other times we've dined there over the years. You can also order a la carte. I like having the option.

We also enjoy the egg croissants from the Marketplace.

If you're going the room service route, they have a family meal that sounds enormous. But since it says it serves four, that's probably 8 credits on the deluxe.

We've only dined at Spoodles once and I chose badly. Had some soupy egg dish. But my guys had the breakfast platter which they all enjoyed very much.

Fresh at the Dolphin has a very nice breakfast buffet but won't help you this trip as it's not on the DDP.

Since the Swan and Dolphin are not Disney resorts they do not take the DDP.

The Yacht Club has a very nice restaurant (I don't know the name as it was recently changed). They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is a very quiet place to eat with good food. For breakfast they have a buffet but you can also order off the menu.

The new name is the aforementioned Captain's Grille. It is nice to have a pleasant and quiet choice for all three meals, isn't it?

On the Boardwalk there is a place called Spoodles and they have the best breakfast. :lovestruc Waffles, eggs, BF potatoes, etc. I think you will really enjoy it. pretty sure they take ADR.

We are staying at BCV in December. We have res for Cape May Cafe one morning and other character breakfasts some other mornings. But on the days we are eating breakfast in our room, we plan to use some snack credits to pick up pastries in Epcot for the next morning or going to the marketplace/ Boardwalk bakery. We are also having a 30 min car/grocery stop when we get to Orlando. :dance3:

We love Spoodles for breakfast. :lovestruc

If we are staying at any of the Epcot resorts or S/D, we head there for at least one breakfast. They have traditional eggs, bacon & hashbrowns... and some fun Mediterranean-inspired dishes as well. :goodvibes

Nope...no ddp for Swan or dolphin. Just a great breakfast!

The Garden Grill ( Gullivers ) has a great breakfast. Also, for Mickey Waffles and the type try Boatrights at Port Orleans Riverside. They have a great New Orleans Lost Bread ( french toast with cinnamon and sugar ) that will keep you buzzing all day!
