I need breakfast ideas for our last morning. Our flight back home isn't until 4:30 so I thought it might be a good idea to have a late(around10:00) breakfast somewhere nice. We'll have used all the days on our park hopper by then, so a park restaurant is out. Unfortunately I'm finding that most of the restaurants that look interesting have character breakfasts. Can someone suggest a good place for breakfast that will be easy for us to get to on a Disney bus/resort monorail? We won't have a car and we're staying at All Star Music.

Kona Cafe at Poly

Whispering Canyone at Wilderness Lodge

Boma at AKL is a buffet, but no characters

Grand Floridian Cafe at GF

Are you opposed to a character breakfast?
I would think that would be the best for a late breakfast/early lunch. It would probably be easiest to get to a monorail resort. I would do 1900 at GF. You don't have to interact with the characters, the non face characters you could just wave to and they can tell you aren't interested in a pic or a greeting & the face characters (alice, mad hatter & mary poppins); they were fun (to 2 adults) but you could always go get something to eat right before they approach your table if you didn't want to interact with them.

are out you'll have to do a bus bus or bus monorail combo to get to a restaurant.

Boma has a really good and interesting buffet. You would most likely have to go to DAK and catch a bus.

Kona and Grand Floridian Cafe are very good. You catch a bus to MK and then the resort monorail (not the T&TC one).

The Wave at the Contemporary has both a traditional menu and buffet option. I haven't eaten there and have read only a few reviews. This will require a bus to MK and then a short walk to the Contemporary.

I would suggest Whispering Canyon also... take resort bus to MK and from there you can take a boat to Wilderness Lodge...

Look for the hidden mickey in the lobby fireplace stonework :goodvibes!!

I agree...if you do want a character breakfast, either 1900 at GF, or Ohana at the poly. I LOVE ohana!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you dont want characters, Kona at the poly, or GF cafe are good choices. :thumbsup2

We did Chef Mickey our last morning. My daughter was 4 at the time and was a great way to say good-bye. She got to see all of the characters and personally say good-bye. We then took the monorail back to Magic Kingdom for an hour or so. She got to pick a few of her favorite rides and ride one last time. Then back to the hotel for the Magical Express.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I had thought about O'hana, but it seems sad to do a character meal on the day we leave.

The Whispering Canyon looks interesting. After all the trips we've made to WDW we've never even visited the Wilderness lodge. Dh wants to spend all his time in the parks, which means eating in the parks. He wants to make sure he gets his money's worth I guess. lol

Can someone tell me how to find the boat to the Wilderness Lodge? I have to find out all the details and sell dh on the idea of taking all that time to get there. lol

We were quite the opposite. One last hurrah with some characters! We still left a little sad but we had a great last day.

It has been a few years since we took the boat... it was not hard to find just outside of the magic kingdom...
I will see if I can find more...

The Wilderness Lodge (Red Flag) is serviced by 1 motor launch and 1 motor cruiser and begin running each day at 8:30am and stop running approximately 1 hour after the Magic Kingdom closes. Red Flag boats do operate for Extra Magic Hour Mornings and also for evening Extra Magic Hours.

I guess I have the opposite view. I can't imagine a better goodbye than a character breakfast! If we were leaving a little later, we were going to do Goofys at the Cape May Cafe.

Wherever you go, just keep in mind that the Magical Express bus will want to pick you up about 3 hours before your flight time. Then you need to assume an hour each to and from your restaurant of choice. We might have enough time, but it would be cutting it close enough that I didn't want to risk it or be rushed.

Have fun!
